Tommy Bahama Hotel

My Husband and I were on vacation and spent half of it up in LA. So we wanted the last half to be relaxing. This Hotel hit the spot. It was just what we were looking for: pool looked right over the ocean, you couldn't ask for a better view. It even had a great Hottub.Rooms had a Tommy Bahama feel and very large. It was almost like staying at a caribbean resort.Walking distance to shops. 10 min drive to Downtown.

Nice place

Nice place, but did not have full power for tv and lights little dark first night. Internet worked but they wanted to charge even though nothing else worked. Then they changed their minds and did not charge. Nice room, pool & easy access to beach front, even with the bad storm.

5 star price 1 star quality

The hotel was horrible. We had a partial view of the ocean, but it was mostly of the parking lot. The air filter in the room didn't look like it had been changed since the hotel was built. The floor was disgusting. The bottoms of our feet were black for the carpet. The staff was nice but didn't seem to care. The hotel was in a shady part of town, not what expected for the price we paid. The beach was really disgusting as well.

Great Hotel, Pool, View, & Location!

The service here is impeccable - every staff member always warmly greets you and are very respectful. The rooms are nice and the pool is fantastic. My recommendation - don't waste money on a partial ocean view - either do the full ocean view or none at all (the cost premium for a partial is not worth it). The location is active with great restaurants, bars, beach views, etc.... This is a great place for either business or personal!

Stay in this hotel it is fabulous!

This hotel is located right on the beach in Pacific Beach. There are loads of restaurants, shopping and beach activities within walking distance. Just a few miles away is Mission Beach where there is a roller coaster and other fun things to do. We ate at a small bar there called Coasters where there were great drinks and fabulous seafood. So, the location was fabulous. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable. I wanted to take the bed home with me. When I woke up that morning I opened the sliding glass door to our little outdoor area so that I could listen to the ocean and laid back down in bed for a while. It was so relaxing. I have never stayed in a place with such great service. Every person in the hotel was top of the line customer service. The only thing that I did not like was that they charged $20/day for parking. I thought that was quite pricey. It was valet only, but the valet people were very nice. Very enjoyable stay and I will definitely be staying there again.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a fun bar not far from the hotel called the PB Alehouse. They have some good brew and if you get the chance you have to try the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese. Delicious!

"Breathtaking Views...Fab & Friendly!"

We booked this trip for a week's vacation as part of a flight/hotel/rental car package through Orbit. Overall we were very pleased with arrangements. The Hotel had directions to attractions in the San Diego area which was very helpful. We travelled very easily to and from this location. Some minor problems include: Surprise parking fee; continental breakfast not included as part of package;soft mattresses. This didn't bother us too much though!
