omni hotel

my daughter and i were there for five nights. the staff was great and the rooms were comfortable. the only issue is the boat/train whistles late at night they were over the top loud and the roof top bar down the block was too loud as well at 12am. the pool was great and although its not a "kids hotel" it was still good for my 6 yo.

Excellent Location

If your catching anything at Petco Park this is the place to do it from. The Park Hotel entrance is perfect. And the proximity to the Gas Lamp Strip is 2nd to none. Caught them on special for 160.00 a night which compared to there avg nightly was a no-brainer. How ever be prepared for the overnight parking shock of 35.00 a nite on weekends and 29.00 during the week, which seemed to be all of the hotels in the area. But overall it was a great experience at the Omni and I highly recommend if you want Location Location Location :-)

Giants fans, you will not believe it!

Room service food-hotel restaurant McCormick's is the restaurant where the food comes from = awesome! Hotel staff -from doorman, hotel front desk, room service and housekeeping-they were fantastic. Poolside service needs a little improvement. Rooms-fantastic! However, the rooms with pool or water view-they look out onto the San Diego Convention Center and are directly above the train and trolley tracks. if you want to sleep well and like to keep windows closed you will be just fine. If you like to keep windows open, you will hear the noise all night long. And it is loud!!! The drawer where usually the Bible is found...they have two sets of earplugs...I am not making this up! Also if you want a view into Petco Park, specifically request a room with such a view, I think on floors 12 or above you will have a great view.

Entertainment tip: In Hotel

Serious Giants fans, you cannot get better than this! If you stay at the hotel there is a private Petco Park entrance/exit. It is like nothing I have seen before and so easy. Bringing a bag, no worries, there is no long line to wait in. No huge crowds to mingle through, get to the Omni Hotel entrance gate and you are out of the park and back in your hotel in a matter of seconds.

omni hotel anniversary trip

We were very happy with the location. It is walking distance to many major sites. There are lots of great restaurants around and a lot of activities. The hotel itself was nice. It had a dvd player inside the room which is a nice touch. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. Very clean. Would stay there again.

highly recommended

The location was great. It was a short walk to everything you could possibly want. The beach is a short ferry/cab ride away, great restaurants surround the three block radius and you have boutiques and a mall within reach. The pool is great if you want to stay in the hotel. The menu on the rooftop was less expensive then the room service and also provided a larger serving size. All of the rooms seem to have great views of either bay or city, we were on the 18th floor and loved ours. Not all of the rooms have flat screen TVs, so be sure to ask for one if that is your thing. The hotel staff is very accommodating to all needs, which helps makes this hotel so highly recommendable. I can't wait to stay here again!

Showy Exterior, Dowdy Rooms

Per my visit to the Omni San Diego between Christmas and New Years Eve 2010: The Omni San Diego looked very nice from the outside (lobby, too). However, our room (on the 14th floor) did not live up to the showy exterior of the building. Our sink was clogged when we arrived. Carpet in the hall was torn and dirty. Our room door had a hole at the bottom (something we noticed in most of the doors on our hall). The staff was nice and, after I made the comment about the room and hallway, they did tell us they hope to upgrade the facility in 2011. Overall, for the price, I think there are other hotels in the Gaslamp District around the Onmi where I would recommend my friends stay.
