Manchester

This hotel is a good one, but not without the occasional problem. Location-wise, it can't be beat if you want to walk to plenty of restaurants, pubs or coffee-houses to wine and dine contacts. Everything is within 5-10 blocks of there. There is also a convenient trolley/streetcar right in front of the building. However, if you have to drive around a lot, stay further out of town where there isn't a traffic light on every street corner every 50 feet. Also, make sure the staff has left you more than one caffeinated coffee if you aren't staying alone--we had to call them repeatedly about that.

Attractions

Sea World is about 10-15 minutes away--the zoo about the same.

Good location for convention center

Would recommend Wed, Nov 17, 2010
As expected for a Hyatt, it's a nice hotel. The rooms seem a little dated and not quite up to the level in other Hyatt Hotels I've stayed in, especially at the prices charged during this large convention.

Money saver

Bagel and coffee in the small shop between the hotel and seawall was good for quick outdoor breakfast

Great location

Would recommend Wed, Nov 10, 2010
The location was perfect! The rooms were okay, not what you'd expect for the price (especially the price quote from their website!) There is a new tower and would recommend asking to be in new tower (Manchester). The tower we were in was outdated!! Walls were thin and very noisy, could hear everything out in hall and above and below us (ex. people taking showers, opening curtains, flushing toilets). Saw several other hotels in the same area around the same price and wished we would have chosen another one. The pool area was nice. The best part of staying at this hotel was the location so close to everything!

San Diego Trip

Would recommend Tue, Nov 9, 2010
The hotel was very nice. Pleasant and prompt staff. Great bar and pool area. Awesome views of the bay. Large rooms. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because we had a room with a connecting door to another room and sometimes it felt like the people next door were having a conversation in our room.

Attractions

Rent a car and drive up the coast. You really just need a day and you get to see some pretty cool beach spots. On one beach, we were literally 10 feet away from seals.

Great location.

Walking distance to Seaport Village, the Gaslamp district, and the USS Midway. Easy access to catch the trolly to go to Old town or just sightseeing on the trolly. As usual....items purchased at the hotel are costly, but a Ralph's grocery store is in walking distance so you can purchase water bottles and snacks. Would definately stay there again. A plus...the view from my room was great!

Good quality

Would recommend Mon, Oct 25, 2010
This is a good quality luxury hotel, with elegant public spaces and comfortable rooms. Our room had a lovely view of the San Diego Bay. Oddly, the room lacked a comfortable easy chair, with only two desk chairs.

Dining

Sally"s Restaurant on the waterfront was a bit pricey, but the food was very good.

Great Views outdated rooms

Would recommend Sat, Oct 23, 2010
Had a great room facing south with a great harbor and city lights view. Located within walking distance of loads of attractions. Popcorn ceilings single sink in bathroom 15 year old TV but comfortable bed and pillows with the great view made me forget about the outdated room.

Nightlife hint

Gaslamp district is within walking distance.

One of the nicest hotels in San Diego

Would recommend Fri, Oct 15, 2010
The hotel is located along the water front and features beautiful views.I was here for business and the facilities were perfect. My reservation was lost and was blamed on the [...] system but it was handled with professionalism. You may want to call ahead to confirm your reservation is received.Self parking is $25 per night but parking in San Diego, in general, is pricier.
