Dining
- Red Fox Steak House
- The quintessential steakhouse that doesn't just reach for the lounge vibe, it helped define it. The entire interior was shipped to the United States for blonde cinema actress, Marion Davies, and was dismantled (again!) and installed at the Lafayette during the 1950's. If the history and nightly piano doesn't get you, the stiff cocktails, steak, and seafood surely will. Hours: Monday - Thursday (11am - Midnight) Friday - Saturday (11am - 1:30am) Sunday (4pm - 1:30am)
- Imig's Kitchen & Bar
- Loved by locals and guest alike, Imig's serves up a modern, casual and honest twist on breakfast and brunch. The relaxed and open setting gives guests the perfect space to gather daily for breakfast, brunch (or both, after all you're on vacation) or a mid-day custom cocktail overlooking the historic Weissmuller Pool. Hours: Everyday (7am - 3pm)
- North Park Neighborhood Restaurants
- Quickly becoming nationally recognized for it's culinary diversity and appreciation for craft beer, the neighborhood offers Lafayette guests an incredible opportunity for food exploration. We encourage you to dine with us once (ok, maybe twice) and then experience the local cuisine within our wonderful neighborhood! Our front desk can assist with recommendations and reservations.

Intimate and Quaint
Very comfortable rooms and bedding! Had the Huevos Rancheros for a late breakfast. It was very good! Patio space is small but it works. Parking spaces are small so drive a compact car. Did not appreciate the Housekeeping Service annoyingly knocking on our door at 8 am and then 9:30 am. Checkout time is 11. Hello! Big question: Would I stay here again? Yes!

Decent Value for Older Hotel
I stayed here for business. The staff was helpful right from the start. Any question or request I had was answered immediately and thoroughly. I was definitely impressed by the service. The hotel itself is an older hotel with pictures of its glory days throughout the lobby. Outside the lobby, the hotel felt a bit run down. The elevator was dark and the buttons would not light up. I enjoyed the quotes from celebrities that they had outside of each room. The walls in my room were bare of decoration and could use a coat of paint. The bed was comfortable and the linens seemed brand new. The room was cleaned very well, it just felt old. You could easily hear noise from the hallway and the room next door. The shower temperature kept fluctuating from cold to hot. It was a good value but I can't say it didn't have its downsides. Replacing the carpets and painting the walls would help a lot in improving its appearance. As I was in town for business, I didn't use the hotel for much more than winding down before bed and then sleep. I was happy with the hotel in that respect but I'd want things to be improved a bit before I could see staying there for a getaway.

Great Breakfast and Location
The desk clerk said they served a small breakfast and I expected donuts and fruit, but we had juice, all kinds of fresh fruits, sweet rolls, cheeses and a hot dish of a Mexican pork hash that was delicious. No one left hungry. The location was great for heading to the zoo and we loved our room that opened to the pool, although it was too cool for us to go in.

Quaint Escape!
This is such a cute hotel! I love the old school feeling of the lobby and the rooms, and the pool was amazing. It's just a few minutes away from the downtown area and the beach. I would definitely stay here again.

Best Kept Secret in San Diego!
It was the best deal around and what a nice surprise. Its not like a luxury resort, but very nicely renovated. Super clean. Worth the value. Take your own hair conditioner.. and soap of choice, they seem to spare expense on this but that is my only negative comment I can come up with. I had read that and packed some. They serve very light continental breakfast but its well done. Very good coffee. We had brie cheese one day, lots of great fresh fruit, crossaints (sp), another specialty bread, very good, and sweet rolls, misc cheeses.

Amazing Hotel
This was an amazing experience. This was my first time in San Diego and the the staff was helpful and kind during the check in process. We stayed at the susie suite and it was a family room but it was perfect for our group since we where there with plans to party. The room had plenty of space to party and also relax. I cannot complain about this place at all.

Good enough
This was an historically interesting hotel, and they have tried hard to renovate. We found the location to be less than desirable. The price is certainly fair, but we wished we had booked something a bit more upscale for our first visit to San Diego.

Classic
The Stay was nice although there were a few things to improve I like it. The breakfast was cold and Verry little option. I would recomend a warm breakfast and with more selection. You can tell a rennovation has taken place but it should be complete when they leave the room. On our doors you could see where the old sign was with old paint while the rest of the door has new paint. The rooms I requested were changed but we were accomidated with something nicer so that was good. other than that keep up the good service and complete the rennovations going and this hotel shall be modern in no time.
