La Quinta Inn San Diego Mission Valley

I made a mistake in booking our room and booked a ADA room through Orbitz. When we arrived at the hotel they would not charge our room to a standard, because we booked through a third party. This was very disappointing, as we were stuck in a very small ADA room without a table, chairs, etc, but we did have a huge bathroom. The door to the room was harder then heck to open and if I was a disabled person I would not have been happy with the room. It was really designed for one person. As I said, I did make the mistake of booking the ADA room, but they were not full and could have allowed me to pay more to change, but would not. The room was neat and clean, but had little gnats in it daily. Things were in bloom and I think they attracted the gnats. This was not a big deal. The hotel was well kept and the room was clean. The breakfast was okay. There was no low-fat anything, so it was hard for me. We ate at the hotel only 2 mornings out of 8. We go to San Diego at least 4 times a year. Getting on the freeway daily was difficult at certain times of the day. It is a few miles from the beaches, zoo, Sea World and the mall is across the freeway. I would not stay at this location again because of the traffic. It is much easier to stay on the west side of 163 in Mission Valley Circle which is near the above places as well. Overall our stay was disappointing, but that really had to do with the room and the lack of amenities in it. I couldn't believe they didn't have a table or chair just because it was an ADA room.

Nice, comfortable motel. Old building, but nicely renovated and re-furbished to new standards. Quick check in and out, great restaurant reference, better than average "free" breakfast. I'd stay here again!

Last minute booking on a summer weekend. Quick check in. Clean comfortable room, good breakfast (no eggs, but lots of waffles, juice, bagels, fruit). Nice (but small) pool, well lighted (free) parking. Strong showers. Definitely no smoking- big penalty if you do. Easy on off the freeway and only a couple fo minutes to downtown/Petco Park/Gaslamp. Across from Mission Valley shopping. Free wi fi.

fun,comfy, overall awesome

The location was fantastic, near to shopping, food and local attractions. The room itself was just so-so. It was small, older furnishings but well equipped with fridge, microwave and tv. The beds were also just so-so. Free breakfast was fantastic, lots of choices and they didn't run out of anything. Our room was located on the side next to a huge car dealership. The lights stayed on all night and one night a car alarm went off for several hours. Probably would choose a slightly more expensive hotel next time s they are all in the same area.

This was a great place to stay, centrally located, the room was very nice, good shower and the complimentary breakfast was great. Thanks!!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. I had a training to attend at Hilton Mission Valley and it was only a few minutes walk. The room was clean and the free breakfast was pretty nice. Although I didn't use them, there were a pool and gym in the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and let me park my car in their lot on the last day after check out while I was attending the training. The room was small, but it was OK because it was just for me to sleep at night. The location was very convenient since it is right by the highway exit. My room was the closest to the highway, however, I had no problem sleeping. The noise didn't bother me. If I had another training at the Hilton, I'd stay at this hotel again!

The hotel was good over all and the location and the cost was also good. Would recommend this hotel if you want affordability with a good location.

zoo,sea world, lego land When groups of teens travel - should be stronger adult supervision - 1 night very noisey-- second nite - kids made duct tape rope from door to railing=extremely dangeroius- maybe with large groups of kids - checks should be made during nite. All in all-good visit

We were visiting relatives while we stayed at the La Quinta Inn. The suite was very comfortable and spacious. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but it was a very cozy place to return to after a long day of sightseeing. The room was kept very clean, and it seemed to be a good price for that area. Check in and check out were fast and easy, and the staff at the front desk were very friendly. The location was good - it was easy to get back onto a main highway, or take local streets. The only possible negative in my opinion was that the lot is smaller and tighter than I'm used to. Our room was above the parking garage, and if we hadn't been in a small car, it might have been difficult to park in the garage due to lots of support columns.
