La Quinta Inn & Suites San Diego Mission Bay

The hotel is very ordinary but had few extras like free internet, breakfast, parking, fridge and microwave inside all rooms, all this made the whole experience OK. I gave it four stars instead of three because the staff was very helpful. There was an issue with the first room they gave us, we reported the problem and they gave us another room, although we were there during end of December so it was not very busy. The location is very convenient close to highway 5, but not so beautiful, a bunch of car garages around, but it seemed safe not sure why people here complained about safety, and you don't need to take the stairs to take the elevator like one reviewer here reported.

Great rooms. Much better than the hotels I've stayed at on Hotel Circle. However the parking is a challenge...

I was on a business trip staying 3 nights. Hotel was clean and comfy. There was a certain smell in the hallway that did not go away. My colleagues said they smelled fish, but what I smelled was some strange mixture of cooking oil; not sure what it was. Sofa and bed pretty decent and comfortable. There was free breakfast every morning, but not a whole lot in the menu.

We came to San Diego for USMC Graduation, The room was very accommodating and the FREE breakfast was outstanding - scrabbled eggs, bacon, biscuts and gravy, muffins, bagels, jucies, coffee anything you could have wanted - I'd go back just for the breakfast.

We found the staff to be very accomodating, the room and hotel were very clean. Breakfast a good start to the day, with a lot of choices. Easy to get on and off the highway.

Pros: Near I-5 and between La Jolla and downtown SD. Cheap place to stay near Pacific Beach Some good eats around Good size room, lots of tv selection, small fitness area and pool, free breakfast, clean. Cons: Hard to find the road to get into the hotel. Parking spaces are tight, I dont recommenced driving a large car to park here. Some of the rooms have flat screens, mind didn't, remote didnt even work. WINDOW CURTAINs DO NOT SHUT. There are some light white curtains that block out people from seeing in but, the AC vent is right below it and blows it open. The room was never really dark and the sun rose straight into my room and into my face on the bed. Overall decent hotel but some quirks prevent it from being great.

It truly met our needs.

While the hotel was a bit difficult to find, the friendly staff and the wonderful continental breakfast room more than made up for the location. Two big pluses for us were how quiet and clean the hotel was. It is an older hotel with a few problems such as a very loud vent fan in the bathroom, and a few non- working outlets. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much, and would return.

Hotel was not easily accessible, and parking was difficult. They were remodeling during our visit so it was noisy with a lot of commotion in the halls with workers coming and going.
