Nice property/friendly staff
Mozartlady Nov 16, 2009
This motel was a surprise. The room was very well maintained; fresh paint, clean carpet and the tile in the bathroom was in ... very good condition. Since it was an older property it had a deeper porcelin tub great for soaking! I didn't use the pool but I could tell that it was sparkling clean. There were two restaurants on site, a very yummy Waffle Spot and a so so Mexican place that were both reasonably priced. Free wifi was a plus for any traveler these days and they had a terminal in the lobby if you didn't have your own laptop. The only draw back for my trip was the lack of on site security who could deal with noisy customers in the wee hours of the morning. A call to the desk was required, but having on site security would have nipped it much sooner. Apparently they contract a security person who handles serveral properties in the night hours. I did not feel unsafe at any time, just inconvenienced by the lack of sleep! There are many hotels/motels in this area. The Kings Inn was definitely worth the price of admission.

Look into the San Diego Mass Transit System, we took the city bus everywhere. It was easy to figure out the schedules right on the MTS website. The buses were clean, always ran right on time, and the drivers were all friendly and helpful. We bought 4 day bus passes for $15 each.

Moxon Family! Nov 2, 2009
I expected this hotel to be one where I would just want to sleep and go on about my other things all day! However, I did ... enjoy the room and hotel everytime I was there. The staff was so amazing friednly and were even dressed in costumes on Halloween! Two great restaurants and great room service! It was conveniently located and was among a string of higher and lower priced hotels, which I alwasy think is great when traveling with many people with different budgets! Noise of the freeway never bothered us so that was not a problem! Loved the style of the rooms! Loved this trip!

A wonderful vacation!
Nathalie Oct 29, 2009
There is a bus stop just outside the hotel, and we traveled by city bus every day to our destinations. We went to the San ... Diego Zoo, several museums in Balboa Park, and Sea World. The service at the hotel was wonderful, they were all very helpful. I paid ahead of time for the breakfast deal (breakfast every morning at the Waffle Spot) and it was well worth it. The Amigo Spot was delicious, and the hotel staff gave us coupons for dinner every night. The housekeeping staff were prompt and thorough. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay at the same place if we vacation in San Diego again.

You get what you pay for. Small but adequate rooms, nice pool and spa. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't ... say it was super clean. But it was fine. A big reason it didn't seem as clean as some places was the age of the rooms and decor. It could really use refurbishing especially in the bathroom areas.

This was an older, but updated motel, that was clean with great restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful in making ... other arrangements. The location was great if you wanted to stay in the middle of the shopping area, very close to the shopping district. For a 3 star hotel, I was disappointed that their was no refrigerator, microwave, or ironing board provided, otherwise, I was a very satisfied customer.

The location was great as we were attending a high school reunion which was just a couple of doors down the street. The room ... was adequate for the price and although small, the bathroom was nicely separated from the sleeping area. There were a couple of minor plumbing problems with the sink and shower controls but we were still able to use them. For an overnight stay it was OK, although furnishings a little outdated and bed too firm for me. The staff was friendly and helpful, but we didn't have time to use the pool or the fitness center so can't comment on those.

We left Kings Inn after one night and moved to Harbor Resort down the street. I will never stay at Kings Inn again. The pool ... was great though. By the way, when I told the lady at the reception desk that we were leaving because the traffic noise in the room was so loud, and it was sweltering; She told me she could not reimburse me because I had prepaid. We loved Harbor Resort.

You need a car to stay here, however there is a bus. It is close to all San Diego attactions, however it is right next to I-8 so there is highway noise. Almost all room face the pool, which closes at 10PM. Nice pool. A great place to stay for the money. Food at the Waffle House is good. Skip the Amigo Stop, go to Old Town for Mexican.
