Sitting on the edge of Balboa Park, the seven-story Inn At The Park is an independently owned, all-suite boutique hotel. The building itself dates back to 1926 and interior arches and moldings invoke a simpler time. Rooms are modern and spacious; even standard room measure 525 square feet. Guests enjoy different specialties at two on-site restaurants--Inn at the Park and Top of the Park-- which offer very different dining experiences.
Rooms

Inn At The Park offers 75 suites varying in size with views of Balboa Park or San Diego Bay. Each room comes standard with a Sealy Posturepedic bed, antique furnishings and a cozy kitchenette. Guests receive complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access.

Property features

Inn At The Park was built in 1926 and has retained most of its grandeur and details from that era. Crown moldings line the ceilings of every room. Archways ring the lobby.

Despite these historic touches, the property is totally modern. Guests receive complimentary bottle of water upon check-in. There's also free parking and free Wi-Fi. The hotel offers 24-hour laundry service (fees apply) as well.

Two on-site restaurants provide guests with eclectic dining options. Inn at the Park is a California-style bistro with a spacious outdoor patio and a lively piano bar. Top of the Park is more formal and is situated at the top of the hotel, where guests can savor panoramic views while they dine. The Top of the Park is only open for lunch.

Clean new rennovated rooms

Ive stayed here before during the rennovaion but had a king room, which had its own living toom and balcony. I reserved a King rom for this stay but got 2 double beds as they didn't have any king rooms available. To my dismay the 2 double bed room was much smaller and didnt have a balcony or seperate living room, when I called front desk they said it would be an extra $30 for a balcony. My reservation said nothing about that.

Fun and Friendly

The staff at the Park Manor was the friendliest I have ever had at a hotel!! Go see a show at the Old Globe, it is great entertainment and within walking distance. If you like art, don't miss the Timkin. It is small but has some wonderful pieces and it is free!

Park Manor Suites-excellent value, great

This is an old building with large suites and old-fashioned fixtures. Everything was there and working and the bed was very comfortable. Absolutely perfect for the price and great location. Absolutely no complaints.

quaint and relaxing

Great location near Balboa Park and Downtown. Old styling of the hotel made it feel very welcoming and relaxing. Very clean, friendly staff, and I would highly recommend!

Shabby Chic for the adventurous traveler

This venerable property is right next to beautiful Balboa park and is one of its main assets. The price is competitive for this prime location but there are some caveats. The big beds are clean and comfortable but the bathrooms and kitchenettes are VINTAGE and very small and could use some upgrades. While the floors have newer carpeting they cannot hide their real age so you can hear people walk down the halls as the joists and floorboards creak and vibrate. The same is true with noise coming through the ceiling and walls. I could hear hall conversations very clearly. When I was checking in on Friday evening there was a LONG line of men waiting to enter the elevator. These folks were all going to attend the happy hour on the top floor. This is apparently a major attraction for folks who enjoy alternative lifestyles. I was not bothered by any of these customers but was concerned that things might get rowdy. Fortunately the festivities ended by 9:30 p.m. so the noise was not a problem when I wanted to get some sleep. There are dining venues within walking distance but be sure to arrive at them by 8:30 or 9 p.m. at the latest. I went to a place that said they were open until 10 p.m. but they were shutting down at 9:30. There is a large selection of eateries at the Gaslamp district on 5th and 6th streets but you will need to drive there and parking is impossible. Take a cab. The continental breakfast was generous and well stocked and is included in the price of the room. All in all this was an OK venue for the price. I would have preferred a newer property if I had it to do over again. I love older properties but this one still needs more upgrades to compete in the San Diego market.

Older hotel but great value and service

The rooms are large and my suite had a kitchen and eating area. The hotel is very clean and the linen are upscale. Bathroom toiletries are also upscale(Gilchrist & Soames) It is an older property but I had no problems with noise. AND the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
