Historic all-suite hotel near Balboa Park
Sitting on the edge of Balboa Park, the seven-story Park Manor is an independently owned, all-suite boutique hotel. The building itself dates back to 1926 and interior arches and moldings invoke a simpler time. Rooms are modern and spacious; even standard room measure 525 square feet. Guests receive complimentary continental breakfast in a penthouse dining room and two on-site restaurants--Inn at the Park and Top of the Park--offer very different dining experiences.Highlights
- Situated on the doorstep of Balboa Park
- Dine at two on-site restaurants
- Authentic turn-of-the-century décor
- Complimentary continental breakfast
Rooms
Park Manor Suites offers 75 suites varying in size with views of Balboa Park or San Diego Bay. Each room comes standard with a Sealy Posturepedic bed, antique furnishings and a cozy kitchenette. Guests receive complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access.
Features
The Park Manor was built in 1926 and has retained most of its grandeur and details from that era. Crown moldings line the ceilings of every room. Archways ring the lobby.
Despite these historic touches, the property is totally modern. Guests receive complimentary continental breakfast in a penthouse dining room and a complimentary bottle of water upon check-in. There's also free parking and free Wi-Fi. The hotel offers 24-hour laundry service (fees apply) as well.
Two on-site restaurants provide guests with eclectic dining options. Inn at the Park is a California-style bistro with a spacious outdoor patio and a lively piano bar. Top of the Park is more formal and is situated at the top of the hotel, where guests can savor panoramic views while they dine. The Top of the Park is only open for lunch.

Beware! Misleading Reviews
This hotel was not as described! I would not give it more than a one star rating. We had to move to another room when we first arrived because our room was dirty and had windows on the two intersecting streets. It was too noisy to sleep! You had to keep the windows open because without A/C the room was stuffy and uncomfortable. The bed was saggy and lumpy, the furniture was old and worn, the bathroom had the smallest sink possible. The sink and tubs didn't have stoppers so they had put rubber replacements in with hair catchers! The bathroom was so small two people couldn't use it at the same time. The kitchen was nearly unusable and dirty. The guests were loud and rowdy throughout the night and the walls were so thin you could hear what they were doing. One bright spot was the friendly staff. In general it was a huge disappointment. I will never trust only reading the reviews [...]

Fabulous service and comfort.
We love staying in San Diego a place that we've long loved. On a recent trip we stayed at Park Manor Suites, 525 Spruce Street, San Diego, CA 92103. This is a magnificent location on 6th Avenue across from Balboa Park. Park Manor is a historic property and we really enjoyed our stay there. The staff was very helpful and friendly; the room was very spacious with a kitchen, sitting area and kept very clean. The bed was firm and comfortable the linens were like new, clean and confortable as well. We plan on staying there again and recommend Park Manor to others.

Fun and Friendly
The staff at the Park Manor was the friendliest I have ever had at a hotel!! Go see a show at the Old Globe, it is great entertainment and within walking distance. If you like art, don't miss the Timkin. It is small but has some wonderful pieces and it is free!

Location
Nice rooms, excellent central location. From check in it was a great experience. The room was nice and big, with a kitchen. The hotel is located in a good quiet neighborhood. A good starting point for the area, close to the beach, balboa park and down town. Would definitely come back, would recommend to others.

The in room kitchen with stove, micro wave, fridge sink etc. helps save dining out money. Excellent restaurants in the area were a once a day treat instead of another travel expense.

Great hotel!!!
The hotel is within walking distance of a lot of shops and unique, great restaurants (no boring chains!). Very fast access to Balboa Park. Just 2 miles from the gaslamp - the area is nice enough to walk there if you want. Hotel rooms are large and spacious. While older, everything was in working condition and very clean. The free breakfast was enough to keep us satisfied until lunch, and it was on the roof with a great view! Wifi was fast in the rooms. We did not eat at the restaurant there. Friday nights they have a "happy hour" on the roof. Noise is not loud enough to keep hotel sleepers awake. Be aware that there is not enough parking for every room to have a space, so if you go out at night after dinner time there may not be room in the lot. There is plenty of free road parking nearby though. Plus parking is free, so I wouldn't consider a small lot to be a negative. We have stayed at this hotel twice before and will definitely be staying there again in future trips.

Park Manor Suites-excellent value, great
This is an old building with large suites and old-fashioned fixtures. Everything was there and working and the bed was very comfortable. Absolutely perfect for the price and great location. Absolutely no complaints.
