Sprawling luxury near shores of Mission Bay with spa and water slides
The Hyatt Regency occupies prime real estate along the shores of Mission Bay, giving guests panoramic views of the water at every turn. The property, renovated in 2010, consists of three separate buildings that flank three outdoor pools. The luxury hotel also boasts a full-service marina and an eco-friendly spa. The on-site restaurant, Red Marlin Restaurant, Bar and Terrace, specializes in fresh-catch seafood and, of course, tropical drinks.Highlights
- Eco-friendly spa
- Child-friendly water slides land in three pools
- Soak up breathtaking views of Mission Bay
- On-site restaurant specializes in fresh-catch seafood
Rooms
The Hyatt Regency offers 429 rooms and 12 suites. Accommodations vary in size and configuration but come standard with balcony or patio, flat-screen TV, Hyatt Grand Bed, iHome docking station and in-room safe. Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access is available (fees apply) and all guests receive complimentary nightly turndown service.
Features
The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay completed a $65-million renovation in early 2010, during which the pools, guest rooms and meeting rooms were revamped. The property is now the only hotel in San Diego with multiple water slides into its pools.
All guests have complimentary access to the 24-hour StayFit Gym fitness center, which boasts the latest cardiovascular and free weight equipment. Guests can also book massages at the Blue Marble Spa, an eco-friendly spa that uses only organic products during treatments and serves only organic foods to customers while they wait.
Grab a fish taco and a margarita at the Red Marlin Restaurant, Bar and Terrace, a modern restaurant in the hotel lobby. The restaurant specializes in fresh-catch seafood--it's a good bet your entrée was swimming in Mission Bay shortly before you arrived.

Great View
Hotel was very quiet and a nice retreat even though it had a high number of bookings. Coffee maker in room provides only a single cup..too small. Room lacks a microwave. WiFi service pricey. Location gave good access to main roads/highways so easy to navigate San Diego. Pleasant stay for four nights but no compelling reason for me to stay there again...Nice but not thrilled.

Pleasantly Surprised
Hotel was exactly what you'd expect from a Hyatt and we were pleased with our stay. We were in the Bay II part of the hotel and were surprised to get a room with a full patio and fire pit. The parking lot was taken up with a party tent that had loud music playing all night, which was a little annoying but we didn't let it bother us. Nice pool area with a big spa. Great location right by the bay and it was nice to be able to walk right out of the hotel and around the bay. Also ate at the restaurant at the hotel and had a great meal (although somewhat overpriced).

Over the top hotel!
Stayed over the weekend in a room on a high floor with a glorious view of the marina, hills and downtown - I didn't have to even request it, they just gave it to me! The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, tasteful and well appointed - I had a beautiful view of the sunrise and sunsets every day!! All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! The front desk and concierge got me a bottle of wine to relax after my very late check-in and even the valets provided helpful directions to sites around the city after graciously helping me with my luggage and car. Overall this was one of the best hotel experiences I ever had!!

Great Bay Views
Enjoyed the deck and walking path around the bay. Was there for business meetings but had plenty of time for the sunshine. Easy water path to meeting rooms, avoided the hotel feel.

Great Secret
The Hyatt is a great property and to me a secret revealed. I have been to San Diego many times and found this Hyatt a great surprize. Although I had pass by the property before, once inside a treasure was discovered. The garden environment outside and within the property reminded me of a tropical rainforest in the heart of the Mission bay area. The view from my room relaced my morning ritual of watching sunrise earth. The sounds and sights put me directly in the series. I will stay at the Mission Bay Hyatt on my next trip.

PArking and Breakfast not included !!
I've expected a continental breakfast and parking , turns I have to expend 80 dollars additional for the parking and breakfast was expensive although they have menu as well .The Hotel is very nice but the place where [...] is renting is in the back beside the parking lot , if you want a nice view then 35 additional dollars per night .

The entire staff of the hotel that I dealt with was amazingly friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony was impressive, and would have been able to stay on the balcony for days. The decoration of the room was nice and clean. Loved this hotel! Will be back!!!
