Sprawling luxury near shores of Mission Bay with spa and water slides
The Hyatt Regency occupies prime real estate along the shores of Mission Bay, giving guests panoramic views of the water at every turn. The property, renovated in 2010, consists of three separate buildings that flank three outdoor pools. The luxury hotel also boasts a full-service marina and an eco-friendly spa. The on-site restaurant, Red Marlin Restaurant, Bar and Terrace, specializes in fresh-catch seafood and, of course, tropical drinks.Highlights
- Eco-friendly spa
- Child-friendly water slides land in three pools
- Soak up breathtaking views of Mission Bay
- On-site restaurant specializes in fresh-catch seafood
Rooms
The Hyatt Regency offers 429 rooms and 12 suites. Accommodations vary in size and configuration but come standard with balcony or patio, flat-screen TV, Hyatt Grand Bed, iHome docking station and in-room safe. Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access is available (fees apply) and all guests receive complimentary nightly turndown service.
Features
The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay completed a $65-million renovation in early 2010, during which the pools, guest rooms and meeting rooms were revamped. The property is now the only hotel in San Diego with multiple water slides into its pools.
All guests have complimentary access to the 24-hour StayFit Gym fitness center, which boasts the latest cardiovascular and free weight equipment. Guests can also book massages at the Blue Marble Spa, an eco-friendly spa that uses only organic products during treatments and serves only organic foods to customers while they wait.
Grab a fish taco and a margarita at the Red Marlin Restaurant, Bar and Terrace, a modern restaurant in the hotel lobby. The restaurant specializes in fresh-catch seafood--it's a good bet your entrée was swimming in Mission Bay shortly before you arrived.

A little bit of everything!
The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay was a great place to stay. The room decor was very nice and we had a beautiful view of the marina. There was a great spacious bathroom with a big shower! We also had a great sitting area in our room which was nice, too. The location was great, too!! We were right on the bay, over the bridge was an awesome beach with boardwalk! Very family friendly and lots of fun. Pool area was fantastic and I liked how there were separate pools so kids hang out by the waterslide and the adults congregate around the other pool. The restaurant was great, too. We only had breakfast there, but it was a great buffet with amazing views all around. Sea World is very close by, and we had a car, so, we were within a 20 minute drive from most of the main attraction areas..zoo,La Jolla, Gaslamp, and airport. We definitely plan on going back, we had a great time there. Service was great, they were helpful with all our questions and any plans we needed to make!!

Beautiful Hotel
The Hyatt Regency Islandia room was simply beautiful. Decorations were simple, but elegant. The hotel was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a desk, a tv, a couch, a huge bed, and our very own balcony that overlooked the sea. I loved it, and it was definately worth the money. :)

First Trip to San Diego
The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay was a perfect spot for what I needed: a long weekend of complete relaxation and a chance to see San Diego highlights for the first time. The staff was phenomenal, always ready to assist. I arrived very early - long before rooms were ready. I fully expected to wait an hour or two; I was in my room in twenty minutes. The room seemed spacious with modern decor. A roomy sectional sofa was perfect for lounging, napping, watching TV; my covered balcony had comfy cushioned chairs that allowed private sunning and just enjoying beautiful views. I used the Trolley City Tour - about two hours long, but I chose to make a day of it, stopping for a harbor cruise, a visit to Coronado Island for lunch, and a walk on the gorgeous beach! I also took advantage of an extended stop in Old Town, and an abbreviated visit to the amazing San Diego Zoo. Trolly tour guide, Hatch, was incredible! Can't wait to return and have already recommended this hotel to friends.

I need a break!
Talk about a staycation!
From the moment we checked in, it was the Hyatt experience all the way. This was a staycation birthday celebration for us and the front desk sent up a botlle of champagne (thank you, [...]!) and were wonderful. Our dinner at the Red Marlin was first class (server [...] was amazing) and the pork chop was extraordinary. As a local couple, we were SHOCKED that we had not been here before but this is my new getaway destination. Wonderful from start to finish. I'm a Hyatt fan all over again.

Dine at the Red Marlin - simply lovely in terms of the quality of food, the value, and the service. The view of the harbor is terrific. As fine as any restaurant in San Diego for sure.

Hyatt Regency, San Diego, Mission Bay
The room was spacious and clean with a lovely view of the harbor. Self parking was convenient. Dinner was delicious as was their breakfast buffet. The staff we interacted with with exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Every waiter wished us a wonderful day with a smile as we left breakfast. Because I was there for business, there was no time to use the facilities for recreation. I plan to visit again when I can relax.
