Sprawling luxury near shores of Mission Bay with spa and water slides
The Hyatt Regency occupies prime real estate along the shores of Mission Bay, giving guests panoramic views of the water at every turn. The property, renovated in 2010, consists of three separate buildings that flank three outdoor pools. The luxury hotel also boasts a full-service marina and an eco-friendly spa. The on-site restaurant, Red Marlin Restaurant, Bar and Terrace, specializes in fresh-catch seafood and, of course, tropical drinks.Highlights
- Eco-friendly spa
- Child-friendly water slides land in three pools
- Soak up breathtaking views of Mission Bay
- On-site restaurant specializes in fresh-catch seafood
Rooms
The Hyatt Regency offers 429 rooms and 12 suites. Accommodations vary in size and configuration but come standard with balcony or patio, flat-screen TV, Hyatt Grand Bed, iHome docking station and in-room safe. Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access is available (fees apply) and all guests receive complimentary nightly turndown service.
Features
The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay completed a $65-million renovation in early 2010, during which the pools, guest rooms and meeting rooms were revamped. The property is now the only hotel in San Diego with multiple water slides into its pools.
All guests have complimentary access to the 24-hour StayFit Gym fitness center, which boasts the latest cardiovascular and free weight equipment. Guests can also book massages at the Blue Marble Spa, an eco-friendly spa that uses only organic products during treatments and serves only organic foods to customers while they wait.
Grab a fish taco and a margarita at the Red Marlin Restaurant, Bar and Terrace, a modern restaurant in the hotel lobby. The restaurant specializes in fresh-catch seafood--it's a good bet your entrée was swimming in Mission Bay shortly before you arrived.

Hyatt Regency Mission Bay
We stayed with another family on our recent trip. We all loved it for the beautiful grounds and slides on the heated pool. (However, they closed at 4pm.) It was a short drive to The San Diego Zoo. We were in Bay I and our friends were in The Tower. Our rates were the same, but the Hyatt would only place us in the Tower for an 'up-charge.' We were a little disappointed, but our room was large and the bathroom was huge.

Beautiful setting on Mission bay, walking distance to beaches. Close to Sea World, trolley to Old Town at front door, pools with slides make this family friendly and somewhat noisy for those without the kids. The restaurants are not abundant in this area if you do not have a car, and we found the on-site choices were limited, overpriced. Our room was upgraded on arrival, spacious King room with a pool view. There was a loud air-sucking noise associated with unpleasant bathroom odors, emanating from the toilet at random. This is some renovation glitch?

Short walk from hotel
There are nice beaches, including a dog beach, within walking distance. The hotel is not on the beach and the pools are utilized by families, want quiet, sand and waves, grab a towel walk a mile. There are playgrounds and an amusement park, Sea World nearby, rent boards, kayaks, stay outside.

Over the top hotel!
Stayed over the weekend in a room on a high floor with a glorious view of the marina, hills and downtown - I didn't have to even request it, they just gave it to me! The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, tasteful and well appointed - I had a beautiful view of the sunrise and sunsets every day!! All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! The front desk and concierge got me a bottle of wine to relax after my very late check-in and even the valets provided helpful directions to sites around the city after graciously helping me with my luggage and car. Overall this was one of the best hotel experiences I ever had!!

STAY HERE!
This was our first trip to California and we were very wary about where to stay. I saw the pictures online and thought it would be a "nice" hotel. Wow....it's a BEAUTIFUL hotel! I was very impressed with the layout, amenities, and overall quality. In the 4 days that we were there, probably ran into 15+ employees and not a single one wasn't smiling. They were all very, very helpful from the Concierge to the Valet guys. Very impressed, would definitely recommend.

Nice family get away
Nice rooms, but kinda of small. Excellent view. We spent a lot of time at the pool. The swim area was great fun. Good service from the Swim bar. The Marlin Restaurant was really expensive. The coffee /gift shop at the Marina was very good.

Alright
Stayed for four nights in one of the ocean front suites. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Everything had been updated except for the tub. It was tiny and the bottom layer of the tub was peeling up. The prices for parking in room dining and movies was insane. The food except for the dessert was good. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. Over priced for what it is

Family vacation
We stayed in the Tower portion of this hotel. It was very nice and beds extremely comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful. We used bus and trolley service to get around which was only $5/person for the whole day. There were no vending machines and the little convenience store type thing in the bagel place closed at 4:00. Pools were heated and very nice. Would stay again. Parking for your car is $18 per day.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Red Marlin restaurant is very expensive. We ate at Einsteins bagel or another breakfast choice a 5 minute walk down the board walk past the fish restaurant and the boat rental places. It is the last yellowish building on your left was the landing grill. Had home cooked breakfast for half the price of the restaurant. Great for a family sit down order off menu reasonable price. They serve lunch also and in the summer also serve dinner.

ENJOYED A 3FOR1 PASS TO THE ZOO,WILD SAFARI AND SEA WORLD. LITTLE DISAPPOINTED WITH SEA WORLD. HOTEL STAY WAS WONDERFUL, THE VIEW WAS INCREDIBLE. THE ONLY ISSUE FOR OUR FAMILY WAS THAT WE WAITED TIL THE FOG BURNED OFF WHICH WAS FROM 10AM - 100PM. SHOULD OF STARTED OUR DAY EARLIER OR TRAVEL IN APRIL.
