Where are the ice machines and room refrigerator?
Nice rooms, clean. No refrigerator unless you pay extra. Ice machines are only on every other floor. No smoking policy yet we smelled pot on the 4th floor when we went to pick up ice.

Great hotel
I stayed here to participate in an event at the San Diego convention center. It was an easy six block walk through the senic Gas Lamp district. The hotel staff were all very personable and knowledgable. Free Wi-FI throughout the hotel, business center and restuarant were all appreciated.

Renovation noise.
Every day there were noise and dust early in the morning due to renovation going on in the building. The noise disturbed us and dust through the vents annoyed us and caused sore throats and headaches. We were asked to re-use towels and linen the next day. We were not aware of the $38.00 per night for valet parking.

Great value!
I stayed here for a conference and booked about three months in advance to get the best rate. The hotel is conveniently located within a short walking distance to the Convention Center, Hard Rock Hotel, and various restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, and the room had just the right amount of amenities (including a Keurig coffee maker). The Aveda toiletries in the bathroom were a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again!

The Cheese Shop, at Horton Grand Hotel, have amazing breakfast and brunch! Their blueberry pancakes were fantastic!
