not a good experience
first, they did not answer the lobby phone for hours! i called the 800 reservation line, they could not get through either. i get there, the room they gave me was torn apart, mattress off the frame garbage on the floor, this is inexcusable. the replacement room was a cheap hotel type of room.

OK for the price
I was in San Diego for a one day trip. The Homestead is clearly a long stay hotel and not designed for business or vacation travelers. There are no food or beverage facilities other than a vending machine, which worked fine. The room was clean and the internet worked. Minor complaint that the bed was squeaky and seemed old and lumpy. As the header says for the price it was OK.

Dining tip:
Not Applicable
There are very few facilities nearby, this is a business park hotel. Eat before you arrive. Chilis is up the street is you like, but that seemed to be it.

Amazing Stay
I was very impressed with the size of the room. The amt of space was way more than expected from what I read when making the reservation. Also you can't beat the price of the rooms. I will definitely be stay again and again at Homestead.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Very short drive (1-2miles) to 3 different grocery stores. Plenty of fast food and quick dinning places near the hotel.

Clean and the staff was accommodating.
The location was freeway close to our business training location. The staff were very accommodating in finding a room that would suffice our needs. The wireless internet hookup is weak and needed to be rebooted several times during our stay.

Poor Maintance and no Maid Service
I recently stayed here on a business trip. I was pretty dissapointed with this place. The room was very tiny and the bed was old and uncomfortable. The recliner-type chair was missing a leg and I had to prop it up using phone books. The room was old and shabby. It had a kitchenette but no glasses, cups or ice trays. I had to get the front desk to take some from another room. The tub, sink and toilet all dripped. They don't have any of the toilet ammenties that I would expect--shampoo, lotion, etc. Internet access is slow and unreliable. The TV was fuzzy. I was there 4 nights and there was no maid service. I had to go to the front desk to get towels, coffee, etc.
