Anniversary Nov 27, 2009
Went for an anniversary get away. They gave a nice upgrade to the 29th floor. The view of the Coronado Bay Bridge was nice ... but the view of the shipping container station was not. The room was very basic. Better in-room perks at a Quality Inn. There was no refrigerator which would have been helpful to someone staying more than one night. For a first time visitor where the "check in" desk was a bit mysterious but we found it. Would have been nice to have been given complimentary free parking as their rooms were quite pricey.

Lovestotravel Oct 1, 2009
To spend a weekend in this beautiful, stylish hotel which reflects the calm waters at the edge of San Diego was pure delight. ... Stunning view of the SD skyline and a gorgeous sunset. Entering, the eye catches interesting and out-of-the-box monumental artworks in lighting and large digital panels all set in an environment of natural materials. The atmosphere is open and relaxing. And last but not least: wonderful service, great on-site restaurants. Highly recommended!

Great Stay! despite the DOLPHINS loss.

We had a great time! My parents lived in San Diego for a few years, but I never really was able to experience the city like I ... did this time. The Hotel is close to everything cool, you're a short walk away from the Gaslamp District, the harbor, and the trolley(which takes you to all points of interest in San Diego). Nice rooms, freindly staff, cool pool, pet friendly... perfect for a couples getaway, weekend stay for a football/baseball game, or just to party & shop through out the city!

Catch the trolley for $2.00 and take it to little Italy. I love pizza!!! I have family in Chicago, so I really know good pizza. Go to PHILLIPI's GRATTO, a very simple but cool place. Easily the best pizza in Southern California. I live in LA, there's nothing close in my opinion.

Unbeatable location for the price
Grandpa Ron Sep 26, 2009
It was next to the convention center where my wife went to the quilt show. It was a walk to great restaurants and seaport ... village;also to see the new Petco Park. Plus watching the bay activity would have been entertainment all day (especially the team taking the Oracle out). The only things that detracted at all were: 1. We requested early clean up one day and it did not happenHad to ask again after we got back). 2. The in and out with the car was a bit confusing with the current construction in the area. The trip was GREAT - one of the best we have had.

Seaport Village is great for buying things to take home and there is a lot to see but food is pricy.

A stay on the Bay
Avenged Utah Sep 8, 2009
We went to the beaches while in San Diego and the hotel was a short ride from PB and MB. Overall the hotel was great. ... Excellent and polite staff. The restraunts were convenient and great. The distance from the Gaslamp district for nightlife was a definite plus. The rooms were clean and the price was very affordable. The only negative was that the lobby area was polar bear cold and made wearing summer clothing uncomfortable.

Don't really need to take a cab to get to anywhere in Gaslamp. Was actually a pleasant walk even for me and misses all glammed up.

Relaxing place
Nick Sep 8, 2009
Very relaxing locations. The only 2 things good to have were.1/ hotel guest should not be being charged for parking fees ... (they charge $21/night for self parking and $32/night for valet). 2/ that kind of level hotel should have mini in-room service bar (so we do not have to go out and buy water or drinks).
Traveler type: Family
If you do not have kids, no place better than this. Because this is walk-in distance for Gaslamp (the heart of the city), the most beautiful nightlife, all the clubs and restaurants. The best morning/evenigh walk by the bay.

Tough to find on my GPS, iPhone map, etc., but the staff says they're working on notifying the different map companies out there. They extended Park Blvd. to the bay to create this hotel, so the maps that have not yet been updated can't figure out where the heck the hotel is.
