Great Bay View
We came to San Diego to join a sailing club located next to the hotel. We found the hotel's location to be central to most of the sightseeing we wanted to visit up and down the bay. It was especially enchanting to be on the bay and watching the sailboats and ships as well as dolphins and sea otters go by. Our view included the Navy Base and its runway with fighter jet and helicopter traffic. Very exciting place to be. Bring binoculars. The exercise path along Harbor Island was our front yard and made every morning walk very enjoyable. Pool is heated and the jacuzzi is especially hot in the morning. The gym is newly remodeled with new equipment.

Short drive from hotel
Island Prime and C Level are located at the opposite end of Harbor Island. Both are the same kitchen. Island Prime is more upscale and the service at both is impeccable. Oysters were super fresh and tasty. They also have a great Happy Hour.

Change is good
I went out to eat and went to Viejas outlet I lounged around. I wish there was free wifi in my room. I like the fact that they changed my room immediately from 2nd to 5th floor. There was a view of nothing but the hotel fron wall on 2nd floor center these rooms should be used as storage. I would not book my worse enemy into those rooms. I called staff and let them know I was there to relax and look at a view. "Change is Good"

i brought my whole family hear on vacation. it was awesome the only lil thing i would say is know what room you would get because if you want a room with a view like i did overlooking the bay. make sure you go above the second floor we kind of had a blocked view of the bay from the vallet entrance, but other than that i loved it

not bad for the price.
Memorial Day holiday. Check-in was easy. Not informed of $19 per/day parking. 20% restaurant discount not valid for breakfast? but ok for lunch or dinner? Wont dine there again. No free in-room wifi. Wont do that again. $1.25 local calls! By the time you check out you could have stayed at the Hard Rock! many hidden fees. amenities not offered by other hotels. Note: keep one room key to get out of the parking lot or your screwed when you check-out. another stupid inconvinence for guests! JR.

Nice and comfy, but one little thing...
I flew in late and arrived at the hotel around 11:30 p.m. on a Friday night. I was In San Diego on business and had booked my hotel and rental car through [...]. We spoke at length about cost and I agreed to the price offered online. When I got to the hotel, the front desk clerk immediately tried to add a $19 a day charge to park my car!!! This was never mentioned when I booked the reservation and was never mentioned on the site. I would definitely not have stayed at this hotel if I had known about this hidden charge. The front desk clerk said it should have been written on my reservation information, but it wasn't. He made a copy of that info and did not charge me for the parking. Hopefully it will not show up later on.

Rude Staff include the weekend manager. Many other choices in SD, I would recommend any of them over this property.

Short but sweet stay
We spent only one night in order to be close to the Airport before our departure to Europe. Queen room facing the Marina was relatively small ( especially once the crib was moved in for our 1.5 yrs old), but decorated nicely. Although close to the Airport the noise from the planes was not bad at all. Instead we enjoyed being woken up by chirping birds, after a really good night's sleep. Being charged $20 for a parking is annoying - it should just be included in the price of stay.
