Worst weekend trip

I will never stay at this hotel again. The location was horrible and you could hear all of the street/highway noise. The room was far below par. We had an adjoining room with paper thin walls. You had to slam the door to get it to close and fight with it to get it to open. The bed was rock hard. The shower was an odd height. I'm 5'7" and my husband is 6'0". I had to bend down to even be under the water. So I know he had problems with it. That's not the only problem with the shower, the water did not maintain one temp. It would get really hot then really cold or vise versa and make this go awful sound. The hotel does not have central heat and air. So we has to sleep with the window open which amplified the street noise. The staff wasn't the best. At 9am on a Sunday morning the housekeeping staff banged on the door while we had a do not disturb sign posted on the door. And again that Monday (with the do not disturb sign still posted) housekeeping came into the room while I was in the shower. Check out was a pain. There was a man in front of me taking forever and not once did the man behind the front desk address that I was there. I would've been satisfied with a simple smile or a "I'll be right with you". When I asked about the room deposit and when it would appear back into my account the man replied " I actually used that for my lunch yesterday." Which is highly unprofessional. Then he told me that it would take 10-12 days to be back on my debit card. Which I find to be a bit long going off of the normal 3-5 working days.

You get what you pay for

At first glance we were sold on this place trying to save money. I knew we weren't gonna spend too much time in the room anyway and have paid a little more for a nicer hotel in the past. I think next time we'll spend the extra $20-$30. This place is old which I get that it's in old town and maybe just suits the motto but the blankets or should I say blanket, you only get one, that feels like a burlap potato sack and seriously must've been the first and only ones they've ever had. No kidding it looks like it belonged to a homeless person. The heater sucked, it was 46 degrees all night. No mini fridge, no microwave. Really?? The staff was very friendly, the gentleman at the desk the night we checked in gave us some very good transportation info and was helpful, guess that's the only plus to this place. Don't think we'll be back.

I see why Padre Trail always empty

They require a $15.00 deposit paid on a credit/debit card...which is fine...thats actually cheap. The problem comes in when EVERYDAY they charge you this DEPOSIT, which they REFUND to you at the end of your stay provided there is no damage. However in my case, they chose to charge me a NEW $15 deposit each day. With no refund at the end of my stay.
