Disappointed

Location was great, lots to see and do in the Gas Lamp District. My biggest complaint was the pool. Very small and no place to lay or sit unless you spend $500 + to rent a cabana. They also have Social Saturdays at the pool where people other than guests are charged to come party at the pool leaving guests feeling like they are not guests at all. The staff at the Float was rude and made us feel like we were intruders. We will never stay at the Hard Rock Hotel again!

Loud

The weekends are loud and crazy, lots of drunks wandering the halls. The suite setup is not really good for kids, there is no microwave and the fridge is already jam-packed with booze, leaving no room for your stuff. Also, no where for kids to sleep unless they sleep on the couch. Bathroom setup is really bizarre, you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in there and see almost everything too! The staff was excellent and friendly, and went above and beyond. Definitely not a family atmosphere though. When the cops knocked on my door at 3:45 am to ask if I had called in a report about the people upstairs fighting, that was pretty much a dealbreaker for me! Interesting experience.

Hippest hotel in SD

Great experience! Best location, friendly staff, clean rooms. We stayed in the Woodstock suite and it was perfect. Cozy, quiet, clean and comfy. Our stay was right before Comic Con and the decor for it was awesome! Fun and hip. Plus, it's in the prime location in the heart of the Gaslamp. Everything is walking distance, we didn't use our car for the entire duration of the trip. My only complaint is that the pillows were a little flat, the bed was comfortable though. I will definitely stay here again.

Good Location

The hotel was nice. It is in a prime location right on the end of the Gas Lamp Quarter. Room was nice and clean. Bar was disappointing. It was nice but empty. Guests would have a drink and leave to go to the other bars and clubs. I only had a few drinks there the 3 nights I stayed.

Hard Rock San Diego

Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite. Great breakfast at Mary Jane's. The bar/patio on the upper floor is a great location to hang out on warm evenings. Great location in Gas Lamp district, plenty of places to eat, shop, and play. Only a few blocks from House of Blues.
