Helpful staff, hotel a little old

The room was clean, comfortable, but a little on the old side. Bathroom sink drain partially plugged. No apolstered chair, just a desk chair. Fitness center could use some updating. Pool area was nice. Hotel supplied airport shuttle would be helpful.

Nice location and renovated rooms

The only problem was the $12 fee that was tacked on by the hotel for parking! That was disappointing. Otherwise a nice location and clean and quiet hotel off the freeway but without the noise. Newly renovated.

Great Room

Sea World is so conveniently located. It is even easy to get to downtown San Diego via the 163 or by using the surface streets up the hill into Hillcrest. We ended up going to the Zoo also. Our room was very comfortable: the king size bed and linens were soft; a refrigerator was included. We were on the ground level, so if you open the curtains, the cars were right there. Two key cards were provided for easy access to the rooms and the building. The side table lights had electrical outlets; convenient for plugging in my Iphone and Macbook Pro. There is a $12 charge per night for parking. You pay for "incidentals" when you check out. The buildings were two stories, no elevator. We did not consider eating their breakfast ($9 for juice and pastry). I did not use the pool or any other amenities, but I would recommend this place. The room was larger and nicer than the Super 8 we stayed in for a night at almost double the price.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Lots of places to eat along the 8 and Hotel Circle. Just go over the hill to get to Hillcrest and then into downtown San Diego; very convenient and you don't have to take the freeway.

Amazing Service!

We visited to celebrate our anniversary and visit the zoo. The hotel room was small to first assumption, but ended up being just enough space. I must say the service was AMAZING! All the staff were very helpful and were very friendly. We downgraded our king-size bed to a double and they comped us wonderfully for our participation.

Great Service in older but updated Motel

We were there to visit our son, his wife and new baby and to tour San Deogo. The location close to a large Mall was excellent for my wife. We enjoyed having my son, wife and baby sit "pool side" at the motel. Good location for visiting the Zoo, Balboa Park, the Navy docks, Old Town, downtwon and attending a Padres game. It's true about the SERVICE. All employees have a positive attitude and were ready to help. The pool area was neat. There is a small resturant/lounge next to the pool. This facility is more "motel" than Resort. But there are so many things to do in San Diego that it's not a big deal. There are no Elevators. This is not a big deal either as there are only two stories. The car rental office "Enterprise" was located at the front door of the Motel. But no Captain Kirk or Mr Spock was evident?? The "On-Site" restuarant was nice. The coffee was not very good. But, it's probably a function of the water. There are really nice coffee Bristas located close by. We're not used to paying for Parking. But it was nice to have some security. If you prefer not to drive on Freeways (the people drive really fast on the local freeways) there are other streets located very close by that offer excellent routes to various events. We typically used those streets. And those streets are easily located from this motel. Good experience.

Something Good, Something Bad

The price is good, especially after getting[...] discount. The position is perfect, it is very convenient if you want to go to shopping at a mall, or go to downtown San Diego. The room is clean, but you can see the building is old. There are mosquitoes flying around which makes my stay annoying. Breakfast is included in the price, but you do not have too many choices unless you order additional meals.
