Weekend get away
It was overall a nice hotel for a short weekend get away. However, we encountered an incident, hopefully it was an one-of incident. There was no hot water for shower. Even though the hotel worked on it, but we did not get any call back from the front desk addressing the status of the issue. We had a set of twins at 19 months of age who needed shower after a Seaworld run, but we were stuck stunk.

This is our first time staying
This is our first time staying at Hampton Inn. It's a bit pricy than we think but it is well maintained. We both like it. The only two things we dislike were the thin wall which we could hear the neighbor talking and the noisy kids. We would stay at the Hampton Inn again at a different location.

Nice convienient stay
Convienient to Carmel Valley. Nice breakfast, spacious room, good rate too. Can't beat that!

Good location
The breakfast and cookies were outstanding. Staff was kind and room was perfect. The mexican resturant across the street is VERY good.

Great location for us
We went to the Carmel Valley area of San Diego for a quick Christmas visit w/our daughter and her family. This hotel is less than 5 min. from their apt. plus it offers the hot breakfast. We arrived earlier than expected since we forgot about the 1-hr. time difference; however, the hotel was able to accommodate us w/o any hassle. The breakfast is a great addition; however, the scrambled egg product they use has a funny texture to it. If you want eggs, they have chilled, hard-boiled ones by the cereals.

DelMar Highlands is a short drive on El Camino Real. It has a Ralph's Grocery, McDonald's Bistro Gourmet (wish we had one in AZ), Rubio's (great fish tacos), Chuao Chocolatiers (yum), Einstein Brothers Bagels, Border's (or B&N), and a lot of other restaurants and shopping.

Great for the most part
This is a good hotel for budget travelers; you get free internet, free breakfast, and pretty nice amenities. The rooms aren't the cleanest or newest, but they're comfortable.
