Room and amenities were great. I thought it was a comfortable hotel for a short trip in San Diego. The only thing I did not like was there was a train stop right next to the hotel and the warning sound was about every 15 minutes from early in the
morning to late at night. The hotel did give us earplugs though.
the hotel is in a convenient location, and the staff was friendly. I needed a crib/pack and play for my son; I called ahead to request one and it was already set up in my room when I arrived. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was
included and the staff was prompt to replenish items as they ran out. My only criticism is the parking situation. The parking garage is rather small, with small spaces and narrow aisles. Especially challenging when there are a lot of large trucks parked in it.
Walked to restaurants in Little Italy and the Gaslamp district. Room was very nice with coffee and fridge. Also a great free breakfast and coffee all day in the lobby along with daily newspaper. Used the free wifi also.
We stayed here for two nights to participate in the running race. The hotel opened their breakfast specifically at 4 am for the runners and shuttled us close to the start line even though we could run/walk to the start if we wanted to. The staff
was extremely friendly and accommodating. Trolley is right behind the building so it's convenient to get to the Convention Center for Expo. Little Italy has tons of restaurants for carboloading. All in all, a fantastic spot with great value.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
India Street has lots of restaurants; walk around a bit before you decide! We tried 3 places, and they were all good.
Good location as it is close to little Italy and other places to go at downtown San Diego. The Hotel is clean and the price is not bad. The only thing I didn't like is I could hear the foot steps of people above our room and also you could hear
the sound of the train when it passes.
