nice central location
close to transportation, few block walk to trolley and harbor attractions without parking issues. Air traffic and trains stop about midnight and start at 6:30. Not much of a moring spread or seating for toast.

This was a nice budget hotel in San Diego close to the convention center (within walking distance). The inside of the rooms was clean and the staff was very friendly. Also, there was free transportation to the airport.

Free Upgrade
Upon checking in, our room smelled like smoke despite it being a non-smoking room. I immediately called the front desk and requested another room on the first floor that didn't smell like smoke since we were traveling with our 3 month old. They gladly obliged and even gave me an upgraded room free! the original standard room was very small but the upgraded room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was minimal with 2 kinds of cereal, oatmeal, bananas, juice, milk and toast.

Close To Everything
Icame to San Diego for a friends' Retirement Ceremony from the Navy and it was held on the U.S.S. Midway. Everything I needed was close to it. The airport, the car rental place and Day's Inn. The weather was beautiful and my stay in your city was very enjoyable at your hotel. I would stay there again.

Not bad for the price
Rooms were clean & comfy, noise from other rooms was annoying, complementary breakfast was minimal. Location was good for access to touristy stuff and the U.S.S Midway. Also close to Little Italy for some of the best Italian fare.

Clean and Convenient
Motel was very clean and convenient to Downtown, Little Italy and attractions. Close driving to Zoo, Balboa Park, Carona Del Sol, and para gliding. The staff was helpful. Only thing I did not like was the bed. I had a hard time sleeping on the bed (too soft!). However, I would stay here again. Reasonably priced for being close to most everything. The Dennys Restaurant just down the street (about a block) has good food and reasonable with very friendly staff. Had a very good time!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Dennys has very good food fare and portions are generous and reasonable. Also, try the Holiday Inn Bayside for Breakfast which was pretty good. They kept refilling my orange juice for a one time charge of $3.00. Food was very good and prompt. Also, a short drive to Coronado del Sol. Go for Sunday Brunch which is excellent and a bit spendy ($53.00 for two people) but outside service and right on the beach. Beautiful historic landmark.

No complaints
The people at front desk were kind and helpful. The rooms are big and clean. The view is great. It's close to the airport. The only thing is it's close to the railway. Every once in a while trains pass loudly. I wasn't annoyed by it too much though. The Little Italy is right behind the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants around.

Excellent location, comfortable hotel
The hotel is located very conveniently, a block away from the harbor and the old ships museum, as well as a block away from Little Italy. The trolley station is right around the corner which made it very easy to go south into downtown or north into Old Town. The room was standard, very comfortable, good bathroom and shower. Room service was good too. Continental breakfast was the usual stuff, but very convenient to have something free to eat in the morning. Also very helpful to have free airport transportation.

Go to museums early since they mostly close at 4 or 5 and it takes a long time to get through everything.

New Years in San Diego
The Days Inn San Diego Airport Convention Center/Harbor View was a pretty great location being that it is in downtown. The airport is close by but you won't hear much noise which was a great thing, but you will hear a bit of noise from bypassing trains. This location was considered due to its close proximity to On Broadway (event center) where my friends and I headed to celebrate for the New Year 2011 party. We stayed in a double bed queen room, that was a pretty decent size. There was even a refrigerator in there so that was nice. Not too much noise and the surrounding area is not bad at all. Would stay here again.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
There is much around the surrounding area. About a mile away you will find a lot of restaurants, and bars and clubs around. Also, a couple streets away you will find Little Italy where they have some great eateries and bars.
