Bed bugs
I am suffering from bed bug bites after staying in this hotel. Can't sleep because of the severe itchiness, embarrassed because they look like some kind of skin disease, and scared that I brought bugs from the hotel to my dad's house.

Close to everything
Went to sanDiego for meetings. Wanted a location that was close to downtown and close to the highway. This was it. It's not the Ritz, it met my needs to set my head down at night and be ready for the next day of meetings. Ask your self how long do you stay in your room. Only to sleep. Why spend hundreds of dollars for a room. when you are only there for a few hours. There is a small breakfast bar, fruits, muffins, toast, coffee etc. it's ok for a fix.

Geat Stay, Great Price
The hotel was great, the staff was friendly and the price was right. When traveling for business; espically last minute you don't need all the add ins. I was able to stay close to the conference; and save money. At the end of the day it was just a skip and a hop back to my room.

Unbeatable location for the price!
We wanted to get a hotel that was walking distance to the Gas Lamp District, and this hotel was. The Desk attendant was very rude I must say. He was rushing to get people in and out. Did not want to answer questions.

Decent for the price
THis is the only hotel I found with FREE PARKING downtown. ALl other hotels in/near gaslamp with on-site parking will add at least $10-20 to hotel cost, not this place. Not the newest, but accomodations were fine, included balcony overlooking city, but that side of the hotel also has 'party noise' from the building next door. Didn't bother us since we went to gaslamp anyway but could bother some. Staff was very friendly. I also got this near off-season at $75/night, compared to other hotels at the time this was about $30-40 cheaper for comparables when parking was factored in.

Not too Bad!
This is my second stay at this Hotel. The first time I had a room with a balcolny. This time I didn't and the room was stuffy and musty smelling. The staff is friendly and the continential breakfast is, wel just that. Danish, tost, milk, juice coffee, and bananas and apples. It is about 6-7 blocks from the heart of the Gas Lamp district. Awesome place for entertainment and dinner.

Clean nice.
The stafff was nice, room was clean and well stocked. My only problem was the location was a little removed from the gaslamp and walking to the gaslamp required having to deal with some obnoxious homeless people and would be a little dangerous for the weaker at heart.

Even though parking is a hassle in the gaslamp I would reccomend driving there not walking especially at night.

Never again...
Their continental breakfast consist of coffee, juice & toast! Also, an emergency situation occurred a week before my scheduled stay & the manager [...] was not flexible with changing from 1 king bed to two full size beds. He wanted me to cancel my reservation & re-book it in order to get two beds instead of one (which was the same cost). If i were to cancel my reservation it would have taken about 5 days to refund me... NOT ONLY THAT!... The new cost for the room for the same day had increased about $30. The manager seems to be money hungry which resulted in bad customer service. The other staff member that checked me in was pretty friendly.. But all-in-all… I will never stay here again & i will never refer anyone here.

Friendly Affair
Friday night we ate downtown and hit a few of the local pubs/bars. We wanted to get some beer to save a few dollars, but the local convenient store didn't sell beer past 10:00. That was strange for us since we are from Las Vegas. Saturday day we went to Sea World and had anticipated going to the bars later that night, but ended up falling asleep from a fun yet exhausting day with the whales, dolphins, sea lions, sting ray and penguins. We highly recommend the sea lion show, and the dolphin show was way over rated. Sunday we went to Mission Bay beach. We had a blast! We thought we have great people watching opportunities in Vegas, but Sea World and the Beach take the pie in that are. We were given $50 through restaurants.com and one of the restaurants was in Chula Vista in a not so great neighborhood, so we didn't end up eating there. We ended up eating at a seafood restaurant downtown overlooking the water. Sunday night when we wanted to hit the bars, no one was out! We went to a club down under and there were maybe 35 people there. Despite the lack of people, we still had a great time. The hotel was centrally located, and reasonably priced. The staff was welcoming and friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

Not Applicable
If you are offered a credit for food, do your research about location and ask others who have been there or in that area or call the hotel and see if they have heard of it or been there. We researched the restaurant and it looked fine; The picture of the place was deceiving and looked like an actual restaurant, but in reality it was a hole in the wall place and kind of scary, especially at night. Not to mention, there wasn't anyone in there and we had to spend at least $35 to receive a $25 discount. Their menu showed that there is a selection of items you can order to meet the price requirement, but the window display sure didn't!
