Weekend in San Diego
I checked in on a Friday afternoon sometime after 3pm. The desk clerk was friendly and my room looked neat and clean. I did notice some noise from other rooms on occasion and the refrigerator was sometimes noisy. But the room felt very spacious and couldn't really complain given the nightly rates and amenities. Overall, I felt I the hotel offered good value for the money in spite of my complaints.

I didn't understand why have a kitchen and no utensils. I mean I've been to so many other hotels with kitchens and they had everything you needed to cook with including plates ........there were ants all in the bathroom I just thought wow I guess you get what you pay for

Weekend in San Diego
I went to San Diego for the weekend and decided to stay at the Days Inn Mission Valley. I found the room to be quite spacious and was surprised by the kitchenette that also included a dishwasher. A desk with an office chair and an LCD tv were other nice touches. As for negatives, the cleaning staff only came around to my room once (before I was ready to leave) and didn't come back again the rest of the day. I also found that the bathroom vent fan wasn't working. That said, I'm satisfied with my overall experience. Other than a few small problems I found the the room up to par with my expectation and I liked that the location was close to SDSU and public transportation.

Disappointing through and through
I have stayed at this property before and was somewhat okay with it, but this time it was truly a disappointment. A door lock that consistently did not work (we had to get new key cards every day), sloppy housekeeping, noisy bathroom fan, horrid breakfast, and a staff that doesn't really seem to understand customer service. If I had not prepayed this hotel for a week I would have checked out after the first night.

stayed for one night
The hotel is located right next to the freeway so the noise was loud since our room was facing it. It had a big full kitchen which would be a plus to a family staying there for a longer time, but all in all, everything needed a lot of updating.

Horrible room
Room promised was supposed to be a non smoking room but it smelled horrible and our 3 year old threw up all night because of the smell. Not only that but we could hear the conversations from the room next door all night. Also, no kitchen as promised. We checked ou after that first night, no way were we going to stay there another night! We only stayed that first night because we checked in so late that we didn't really have much of an option.

Not the worst part of the trip
I went to San Diego to stand vigil at my father-in-law's bedside while he wasted away and eventually died from lymphoma. That was the worst part of the trip. Compared to that, my stay at the Days Inn was decent but nothing to write home about. The deadbolt was broken in the room I was in and there was a huge gap under the door, making me feel slightly unsafe. Thankfully I had other things to occupy my mind and didn't care much. The staff was reasonable. They got me in and out without much hassle, and that was good. They gave me extra pillows when I asked, too, which was very nice of them.

Kaiser Permanente up on Zion was very friendly and I recommend them if you are choosing where to die.
