A clean comfortable room. Nothing fancy, but all we wanted was a clean room, with comfortable beds, which is what we got. We ... were out and about most of the time. So, all we needed was a place to sleep, with clean bathroom and comfortable beds. I would rate it a 3 on a scale of 1-5. They did have a nice pool and hot tub, but we didn't have time to use them. Too many things to do and see in San Diego. There is a nice, reasonably priced cafe attached to the motel.

I stayed at the hotel on a Sunday following a wedding. I just stayed the night before my early Monday flight back to the ... east coast. I picked the hotel because of positive reviews, proximity to the airport and reasonable pricing. I was not let down. The rooms for great for the price, staff was helpful, airport shuttle got me to my terminal in plenty of time. My room was next to the elevator, so it was a little noisy, but considering that was the only downside, I have nothing bad to say about my stay. Oh... and I got a refund from [...] because someone else booked a room for less... gotta love it!

Cozy in a King Bed Dec 1, 2009
I really enjoyed this hotel. I thought the room was really well taken care of and I especially enjoye the set up and items ... in the room (frig, two burners, kitchen sink, pots/pans, utensils, etc). The only gripe I had was the fact the airport shuttle only ran every two hours which for an 11:30 flight I had to leave at 8:00 and was extremely early.

The hotel was located in a clean friendly neighborhood and right near all the major highways. There were several nice ... resturants in the area as well as the major attractions for San Diego; Zoo, Seaworld, beach... The room was updated for the times and was clean and comfortable. The front desk also provided a map with local attractions and directions to get to them.

Centrally located for easy access to fun
wej Nov 16, 2009
Check in to the hotel was quick and painless. They gave us the choice of 2nd or 3rd floor and recommended 3rd floor to avoid ... noise from upper floors. Every time we went to the lobby, the person at the desk was very nice and willing to help us without delay, including getting us discounted tickets to some of the area's attractions. Parking was adequate, most of the time we were able to park within a few feet of the stairs leading to our room. The stairs seemed a little tilted going from the second to third floors, and made it feel a little unsafe, but not terribly bad. The floor in the room was also slightly tilted, causing the doors on the TV stand to swing closed if a chair wasn't put in place to hold them shut. Nothing a shim or two couldn't fix, and it wasn't an issue once we realized what we needed to do to fix the problem. The location was excellent. It was about a 5 minute drive in either direction to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, with easy freeway access. The hotel restaurant was nothing stellar, but satisfied our hunger after arriving in the late evening. There are also quite a few fast food restaurants a short drive away for late night snacking.
Traveler type: Couples
Sea World 5 minutes and two freeway exits away. San Diego Zoo 5 minutes and one freeway exit away. Very good accessibility to the area's attractions.

We chose this hotel based on [...] reviews and the price. It was all we expected from other reviews and even a little bit ... more:)Centrally located to all major attractions. Even the trip to Coronado Island did not take more than 15 minutes! Service was incredible and clearly above the motel level. 10 minutes after getting to our room, we received the call if the room was to our expectations and to let them know if we want to switch anytime. Staff was very responsive to any questions and really helpful. Some people complained about "motel feeling" with the rooms entrances facing the outside of the building and the balcony. There is a solution for that. Ask for the last building, by the swimming pool, with the doors to the rooms from the internal hallway. The building is the quietest one and newly renovated.Free shuttles would be likely a major bonus in the season but we used our car - close to everywhere and easy to park out off season and on week days. Overall, very positive experience. We will surely stay there again! Surely "five stars" within its class.
Traveler type: Couples
If you stay over the weekend and not in the season, just use the car. Short and easy drive to all major attractions and easy parking in most places. Otherwise shuttle is a great plus!
