    Room needs maintanence

The bath tub had a hole in it that was repaired with a soft patch. So while taking a shower I fell in the hole and thank good I only stumbled and did fall. Also the next door neighbor were slaming their front door at all hours of the night. We complained to the front desk you could tell they really didn't care. I would never go back.

Not Impressed with Service or Quality

I was traveling with friends, and we were all from out of town. I flew in from Boston, but I'd left my drivers license at home. The identification I had on me (Social Security Card, College Photo ID, and the credit card that pre-paid for the rooms) was sufficient for the TSA but NOT sufficient for the Manager at the Days Inn. [...] I was NOT pleased with their service.

    Wish had found something else

Checked in about 3PM the receptionist was not at all friendly. Even getting a parking space was a hassle. Rooms were OK compared to Los Vegas and LA not up to "value for your money" One advantage was closeness to Downtown and Seaworld. When we checked out early next morning the' check out' lady was very courteous and helpful.

    Good Staff and Location

I stayed for two nights at $105 on Saturday and Sunday night at the end of May '09. The hotel is much bigger than I assumed so it made it a little noisy. The rooms were just okay sized, not large. Given the size of the hotel I would have expected a bigger room. But the overall budget look to the hotel makes sense and the price was what drew me to the hotel in the first place so no real shock. The shower was good but the bathroom needed a little upkeep on paint. Pocket door was scratched horror movie style. No nightmares, it was more funny than scary. Also the heavy curtains in the room didn't close so I only had the sheer curtains for privacy and to keep the light out. So extra light in the morning was annoying. The staff was really nice and helpful. They all rocked. From the housekeeping staff to the front desk people, all very nice!!! The parking was also good and I noticed there were always empty spots. The location was great, easy access to the freeway and to Old Town San Diego, which is really nice. Your located in a enclave of hotels so the area is safe and there are always people around. A liquor store is only a minute walk away and there are also few restaurants down the strip as well. I ate at Ricky's, home of the apple pancake, which is more of a soufle than a boring average pancake. Didn't eat it but sounds good. The reason I stayed here was for the Rock and Roll Marathon and they had a shuttle to the starting line which as really great!!! They charged only five bucks a ticket and left at 5:15 a.m. getting us there perfectly on time. A friend stayed next door and paid $20 for his shuttle. I had called a week before asking if they had a shuttle and they said no. But at check-in(which was an hour early, very nice of them!!!) they mentioned the shuttle after I asked about how to get to the marathon by taxi. So next time I'd call the day before to ask a question like that. The pool was just okay, only 5 ft deep in the middle so no really good swimming for a tall person. The jacuzzi is good enough for 8 people and they provide towels poolside which is nice. They let me check-out an hour later which was perfect post marathon. I'd stay here again no problem but wouldn't be dissapointed if they were booked up.

    Good value, good location

We were in San Diego for the weekend to attend events in various areas the entire weekend. The hotel was centrally located to all our events. The front desk staff was very friendly. The room was very clean. The outside areas were a bit worn - floors, etc., but for the price, we were very happy. Breakfast was good.

    Good for the price!

My overall stay was great! never had anything wrong with my room and the staff was friendly and helpful! It was a bonus that they shuttle to the zoo and seaworld, saved us the gas and getting lost! I would stay here again! there is a cute little cafe in the hotel, which was decent food! The only bad thing was that you are right by the freeway and traffic at certain times was unbearable!

    Days Inn vs. Sheraton (Bay)

Celebrated a friend's b-day with 2 separate hotel rooms. One at the Days Inn and one at the much more expensive 4-star Sheraton (8 miles away). The Sheraton may have had better decor and a view, but lacked a microwave and fridge. When it comes to hotels, I choose function over form. I figure, I'm on vacation, I'll get presentation out on the town, not my hotel. I would gladly stay at this hotel again. Recommendation: 1)SUPER light sleepers may want to request a room not on the first floor and towards the back of the west wing; it worked for me. 2) If you need a *powerful* hairdryer, pack your own. 3) Pam Pam's Grill, by the front office, carries some commonly forgotten toiletries, plus a delicious breakfast.

    We survived it.

Well, we were on the 2nd floor, and the ceiling to the 3rd floor was very loud all week. There were a few maintenance issues, but they were fixed right away. The free shuttle service was nice, and for the most part the staff was very friendly. They were slow a lot, due to lack of staff on hand, but they were nice. There was a computer in the lobby that you could use, but it was not high speed internet, and it couldn't even load mapquest half the time. Overall, it worked, but I didn't care for it that much.
