Would Only Stay Here Again as Last Resort
Overall, the hotel was fine, with the staff pleasant, and in a convenient location. The room was the killer--it smelled of mildew, and the sheets in one of the beds were dirty. When I notified staff (after 8 pm), we waited a while for housekeeping to show, but couldn't stay awake after 9:30 pm, because we were on East Coast time. Housekeeping came by early the next day to fix the sheets, but the room still smelled musty. We weren't in the room enough to request a change, but even if we did, I am not sure that it would have made a difference.

Old Building Complex
The hotel building was very old and dated. Rooms had an offensive Musty/Moldy smell that did not disappear even after windows were left open overnight. Hotel offered option to change rooms, but alternate room was the same. I would not choose to stay at the Days Hotel again.

Great Location, Otherwise not impressed
The Days Hotel - Hotel Circle, San Diego, California did not meet my expectations. The location is wonderful (close to everything we went to see and do), but otherwise the hotel isn't special. Parking is inadequate for the number of rooms. If returning to the hotel late, be prepared to park far from your room. Since many of the parking spaces accomodate a compact car only, our full-size rental became a problem when returning late. Housekeeping became less complete each day (unwashed basin, no replacement shampoo/soap, unemptied ice bucket). The hotel itself ,although dated, is adequate. It was quiet at night and the beds are comfortable (I slept better than at home).

Short drive from hotel
My teenage daugher liked the shopping opportunities close to the hotel. Turn right from the hotel driveway and proceed under freeway bridge. Go left at light for Fashion Valley mall or right and drive a short distance to Mission Valley shopping area. Mission Valley has lots of dining options too.

Too loud to sleep
This is the second time I've reserved a room at this hotel. The first time in December 2005 we reserved the family suite, my daughter was so appalled at the condition of the room, shabby furniture, dirty carpeting that she refused to have her small children sleep there and we moved to a different hotel. This time when I pulled up to the hotel and realized where I was I almost checked out before checking in, but I decided to see the room first. They have done extensive updating on the furnishings and the room was clean enough so I decided to stay. For three nights I suffered through the loudest, rudest, most obnoxious group of hotel guests possible. You might wonder why I didn't call the office and complain..FEAR OF POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES TO PERSON AND PROPERTY...these guests were young, large, and scarey...they were drunk, rude, and seemingly violent and a group of them were right next door to my room..when I checked out I did complain and found out no one else had complained either..I guarantee that a large number of other guest experienced this all night revelry...next trip I'll be finding a different place to stay in Hotel Circle.

Very noisey hotel
When we arrived we were suppose to have 2 adjoining rooms for 4 people. When we checked in we only had 1 room and the hotel stated that they never had adjoining rooms. Since we needed another room, the hotel had to find us a room, and that they did, next to the employee lounge located on the lst floor. This is where the staff meet in the morning and after shift so if your a late sleeper (8 am or later), then it was a definite problem. There were 2 floors and the people above us must of had heavy boots on because you could hear their every move. If you stay here, request the top floor. The cars are going in and out all night. I hate to sound so negative because this place was freeway close and had free parking. I guess you have to give up one for the other!

Old Town San Diego was just down the road and very convenient. Good food and shopping there. If you travel towards downtown, eat at Brians. Definitely not fancy but a great breakfast!. close to the zoo and sea world.

Appropriately priced
The bathrooms needed updating and the quality of the towels could have been better. The room was clean and perfect for an overnight stay, not a week long vacation.

Looks/photos are deceiving
Cheap and inconvenient
The hotel location is convenient and is close to the SD special attractions. As we return to the hotel after 9 p.m, there are practically no parking left and if there is any the space is very small and cramped. The space is big enough to fit a minivan, but with no room to get out. Cars have to park double space because there's no room to walk in between cars.

Not bad....We've stayed in BETTER!
We stayed there while we visited the beach and friends. We'd just come from Knottsberry Farm at the Holiday Inn and figured this hotel would be comparable.... BIG DIFFERENCE! Holiday Inn was cheaper..and nicer! It was OK... but I dont think I'd stay there again. Whatever they clean the rooms with was HORRIBLE! My allergies were a mess for 3 days! Location was "not so good" and the whole thing was a huge turn off.... I contemplated just eating the money and finding another hotel.
