Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Mission Valley/Hotel Circle

Avoid. I like the Courtyards, but this location should not have the name/brand This was not originally a Ramada property. No covenient breakfast. $16/day for parking (give me a break - in Mission Valley!?). Effectively no wi-fi for four days (the hotel's front desk wi-fi was down most if this time also)- on any other trip this would have been a disaster - I would had to have changed hotels. On a positive note - excellent staff.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful. The location was great for the things that we were going to do. Overeall a very pleasant stay.

Clean room, easy access to everything. I was happy that the hotel was close to everything ... mall, eating places, the freeway.

Staff were courteous and helpful. Room was clean and had a good tv. The location was centrally located. We didn't know city and had a great time with hotel's direction sheet.

Nothing outstanding. Hotel ammenties and cleanliness were just as expected - average. However, staff was unusually unfriendly and even arrogant somewhat. I did not feel valued as a Marriott Rewards member. I did not feel welcome. I am most likely not coming back to this hotel and maybe even discontinuing my membership to the Marriott Rewards program.

Very nice pool and exercise area. The bar doesn't have much atmosphere, and there is no real restaurant. The rooms are spacious, clean and attractive. There is no room service menu either. So we went down the street to a great little bar and restaurant called Albie's Beef Inn. That's a place everyone should try...(not with kids, though - there are oil paintings of nudes all over the walls...)

I came to San Diego for a long weekend to see my sisters and their families. The Marriott Courtyard in Mission Valley was an excellent hotel with a great location on Hotel Drive South just off Highway 8. The hotel has easy on and off to Highway 8, which enables you to get to great locations with ease. If you want Sea World or the ocean beach, just head west to the end of Highway 8. If you like to shop, the Fashion Valley Mall is just on the other side of the Highway. QualComm Stadium is just a few miles east on Highway 8. If you want to enjoy Old Town just keep driving west on Hotel Drive about a mile, and you're there. Balboa Park is a quick trip east on Highway 8 to Highway 163 South and a short drive down 163 to Park Boulevard. Highway 8 West crosses I-5, if you want to go downtown or to the Marina. My room was clean. The beds were excellent, and so was the shower. And the hotel was quiet after 10:00 pm until around 7:30 am, so sleeping was easy. There is an exercise room with enough good equipment and t.v.s on the treadmills. Having a Starbucks in the lobby is a real plus. My only complaint: $16/night to park your car! Be prepared. The hotel is not as inexpensive as it lets on. That said, the hotel is a good choice for travelers more interested in seeing San Diego than staying holed-up in a hotel.
