Great value with necessary extras
15 min walk from convention center and near many restaurants near 5th and Market. For the money, a great value and I would definietely return. Free shuttle from airport to hotel. Free breakfast is very good, free newspaper, free wifi, coffee+frig+microwave in room. Clean with decent shower. What more do I need? Only negatives were the street noises and street people in the area. Not a problem, but I could do fine without them.

"Bite Me" on F between 4th and 5th was tasty yet modestly priced Mediterranean food and drink, ate there twice. Also recommend "Whiskey Girl" at Market and 5th for dinner, etc.

San Diego Convention
This hotel is in walking distance of Seaport village, the convention center, and numerous dining and shopping venues. It is also close to the stadium and to the light rail line. The overall quality of the hotel is great, especially compared to the prices of the hotels around. Breakfast is excellent and free internet beats the Hilton where the conference I was attending charges an arm and a leg. I'll make this my destination for my next trip to San Diego.

Best Place to Stay in SD
I've stayed at this hotel many times. The rooms are a bit small, but are always spotless, and the rates are very reasonable. Never once have I had a complaint. The staff is very friendly, and welcomes me back each time. The location in the Gas Lamp/Petco Park area can't be beat.

Room
The room and the bed was way too small for two people. The sink was also right next to the bed, which was kind of weird in a way. The hotel was located on a busy street, but I wasn't disturbed by the sound coming from outside. Overall, it was just an okay experience. I will probably not recommend this place to other people.

Expected Adequacy
Stayed Thursday-Sunday for SDCC 2011. Hotel was the definition of 3-star. Notes: - Outside noise from the street occasionally bothersome. - Hair conditioner not included in amenities. - Complimentary parking not guaranteed. - Air temperature controlled by reasonably-loud, window-mounted A/C unit.

Good value
I attended a convention. The location is great, easy walk to the Convention Center, and immediately close to all the action on Fifth Street. Just a basic hotel but good value for the location.

The basics with breakfast
This hotel is literally in the Gaslamp Quarter. So if you don't like loud noises from bars, this is not for you. The noise did not bother me because I grew up next to a train all my life. This hotel offers the basics and that is all what you really need. Bed, bathroom, TV and wi-fi. Also has computers down stairs and washer and dryer. The best part is the complimentary breakfast. Really helps get your day started. Good breakfast with eggs, sausage, cereal and more. I was in San Diego for business and sightseeing. This hotel was right where I needed it to be.

extra fees
Upon check in I was notified that there was a $50 room deposit and a $16 dollar a day parking fee. Also they tried to accuse me of smoking in the room and after an inspection they realized that this was not true as there is a charge associated with smoking in a room. Good location but very doubtful I would stay there again

Great Location and Price - Small Room
In town for Business. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was a quick 5 minute walk to where I needed to be. Free transportation from the airport, free breakfast and internet made it a even better deal than I realized i was going to get. Staff was friendly. Great option if you don't mind a small room. I was happy, but if my wife would have been with me, she would have said that the room was too small.

"Definately Downtown"
Went to meet up with friends and see the sites , originally wanted a queen bed got the double because they were fully booked but after the first two days they switched me to the larger room, the double bed room was a lot smaller then it looked on their web page and was kinda musty to the scent , however like I said they upgrade to what I originally wanted at no cost. the contin. breakfast was good lots of choices only available from 6-9:30am though for you late sleepers and for those who have their own vehicle you have to pay for parking, I thought for the price of the five days it should have been included personally and it was a small parking lot that spaces were assigned to you and only about thirty of them, not quite enough for a hotel with 300 + rms. So being that I was with friends most of the time I checked out early to save costs on prkg, and convenience

Time-saving tip:
Not Applicable
If you plan on driving, or having a rental expect to pay up to $20.00 a day at the hotel and meters most everywhere else . There was a grocery store bout three blocks down . definitely recommend the city pass if you want to see some of the attractions
