Roaches. I wish I was joking.

I arrived for a 3 night stay at this hotel and was pleased by the friendliness of the staff working here. I went to my room and found an unusually laid out, but generally not bad little room with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was small, but functional and appeared clean. The second night there, I ordered a pizza. I put the leftovers in the fridge and left the box on top of the fridge. I got up at midnight to get a drink, turned on the lights, and saw cockroaches all over the box and wall near the fridge. Immediately called the front desk and they moved me to a different room on the 2nd floor (first room was a ground floor room). I examined that room to the best of my ability and didn't see anything, so I stayed that night in that room. The next afternoon after returning to the room, I went into the bathroom and had another roach scurry across the floor. I packed my things, went to the front desk and demanded a refund, and went and stayed at the Holiday Inn up the block. More expensive, but not the wild kingdom either. This could have been a very nice little budget hotel, but roaches are never acceptable at any price point.

Off the beaten path

This hotel is within an easy drive to many things to do in San Diego. It is very affordable, and many restaurants are within walking distance. The restaurants are good, and also affordable. The rooms are small, but comfortable, and relatively up to date. I was very pleased, as we are on a budget, and we saved a lot of money, but still had a great time.

College Grad Vacation Stay

Spent most of my time at my Step Son's home and went to a College Graduation in Pomona. The continental breakfast was great. Good way for me to start the day. Getting into and out of the parking lot was a challange and at times finding a parking spot. The hotel staff was EXCELLENT which always makes for a GREAT stay.

Comfort Inn San Diego

Overall my stay was not bad; however,my encounter with one of the front desk staff memebers could have been better. I had a difficult time obtaining a reciept for my stay from the front desk person on duty. She told me that they didn't give reciepts if I reserved my room using [...]. I have taken a number of trips to San Diego and have used [...] before and I have NEVER been refused a reciept and normally I would have to ask for it. I really don't understand what the problem is/was with this request? This was not a great feeling, not knowing what my final bill might be until I'm miles away back in Wa. I stayed at the Hilton (Bayfront)5/09 and the Holiday Inn Bayfront 8/10 and used travel services both times and I got a reciep/bill before/as I checkout. I would like to know what my rights are in a case like this one?

great value

i picked Comfort Inn at the Harbor based on reviews that I had read. Several of them stated that if you wanted a good bed to sleep in, this was the place. It did not disappoint!

Perfect spot for cruisers

We stayed here for one night before our cruise and it was great. Hotel prices are expensive anywhere in California and this was one of the cheaper places. The previous reviews didn't seem too bad, so we gave it a try and it was perfectly fine for us. We got a 2nd floor corner room that had two windows ( really cute). The rooms are super tiny, but hey, we just needed a place to stay for one night. It had a comfy bed, a little fridge, a desk, a table by the window, and a vanity area with a coffee maker. They also had continental breakfast that was sufficient. I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to keep their costs though but want something clean and safe.

Nice for a weekend

The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't a microwave in the room, so I couldn't eat my dinner pizza as breakfast pizza! :) One employee that was there was very helpful and showed me some places to go to enjoy my trip (and they were some TERRIFIC places!). It was close to restaurants and easy to get around. Would definitely stay there again!!
