Not worth the money.
Paid for a suite and got two rooms with one air handler. Had to leave the door open between rooms to heat/cool the other. Not worth $385.00 per night. Bathroom was no bigger than the walk in closet. No value at all!

Too expensive for something very average
The staff was friendly. Perhaps it just need a remodel, everything inside the room had a smoke scent, although it was supposed to be "non smoking". A little overpriced simply because it's by the beach.

HHHHHHorrible Experience!!!
Reserved a King Garden suite through this site. Resort changed reservation to a 2 double bed room. Explanation was because it was booked through a 3rd party, so there is no guarantee of room type... why give the choices during booking if reservation through travel companies won't be honored?!! I'm about 6' and around 230lbs and they expect my wife and I to comfortably share a double bed or sleep in separate beds during a celebratory trip; I DON"T THINK SO!!! The room itself was a regular 2 bed room with a rain forest outside of a 3X8 ft patio... Not impressed, definitely not worth the extra $$. The only accommodation that was made on our behalf was a returned charge of the $13.00/ day parking fee (that we weren't told about until after signing in). Because of this experience I will not ever return to this "resort" again and because of the lack of shared information on honoring reservations and parking fees, I may possibly never book a trip through this site either.

We just adore a penthouse view...
We stayed in a 'penthouse' suite and found it to be a good value. They need a few towel racks in the room, but otherwise very comfortable, clean, and fun. Great neighborhood for walking--no car needed.

wedding at Catamaran Resort
The hotel is very good and the grounds are extremely beautiful. Also the restaurant at the hotel is very good, but I thought the prices were on the steep side for hotel food. Great location on the north end of mission bay with the bay walk right out side. This hotel is too big for my taste, with lots of people milling around most of the time. They do big weddings a lot. Seemed a bit pricey compared to other hotels in area. Some other guests stayed at other hotels and their rooms were as nice, but at a lower pricel

Not What We Expected
The room was far smaller than advertised, perhaps sufficient for one person as opposed to two, you could not see the the tv from the bed; the only place to sit; the staff was great but they could not make up for the drawbacks of a resort trying to pass itself off as a part of upper scale living when in fact it is far from that. You had to pay $22 per day to park your rental car and most importantly the food was terrible. I would not return to this facility if it was offered for free nor would I recommend nor would I recommend it anyone.

Beach Are Us
Relaxing, well located classic charm
This is not the ultra-chique posh, over-priced resort, thank goodness! It is laid back, a block from the beach with a historic botannical garden and duck ponds running throughout the complex. Rooms are classic, not fancy but comfortable, staff is clearly veteran and well trained to accomodate. A small, comfortable cocktail lounge, decent restaurant and available beach toys made this a nice, relaxing experience for us. It's a classic older beach hotel traditional for San Diegans to conduct business meetings, weddings, etc. Overall, very nice.

Short walk from hotel
The lively, spirited Beach Front Walk on Pacific Beach, teeming with life, beach culture, a bit of funky nightlife. An isolated, windswept beach experience PB is NOT, which is why we love it.

perfect family vacation
The views in the Bayfront suite were spectactular!! The room was very large and also had a walk in closet. My 17 year old slept on the pull out sofa and said it was not very comfortable!! My wife and I slept in the king bed and it was very comfortable. The location is great, walking distance to beach, bay and anything else you would need. Attractions were all within 15 minutes. I think it was a great value for the price we paid!!! I would book this room again!!

Nice stay in San Diego
We had a great time in San Diego. Catamaran needs to upgrade the decor in the rooms (kind of old-style) and our king-sized bed was "uneven". The staff was extremely courteous and friendly, but overall, the hotel rated only a 3 star with us
