VERY old and not updated hotel rooms.

Very old rooms. Appears to have not been updated for 30 years. Clean but in poor shape. Minimal privacy. Our bathroom window which faces the parking lot was missing a frosted pane so everyone can see us in the bathroom with no way of covering it. Plus the window panes ( which are ancient ) don't close tightly so bathrooms are very cold. Back window leaves you open for anyone to see if they walk in. Walking path 10 ft. away. Had to keep drapes closed. Mattresses were similar to hospital ones. Old t.v. We did not want to be at the hotel or in our room. We stayed away as much as possible as we did not want to be in our room. WAY over priced for what it is. I would not pay half of what I did pay for this place.

"Low end" rooms a bit rough, but clean..

Hotel was accomodating to let me check in 3 hours early. My "least expensive" room was a bit rough, but clean. I could see that there were other nicer rooms. Lots to do right on the premises. The lobby, restaurant, the "garden-like" grounds were all nicely decorated, updated and groomed.

Couldn't Be Nicer

Although the resort is a bit "circa '70's, it is very well taken care of with very clean rooms and pristine grounds and pool. The staff couldn't have been any nicer as we were traveling with three generations. Guest Services took great care of us for dinner and the directions the hotel provides on the back of the resort map to Legoland, SD Zoo and other attractions in the San Diego area were terrific. The kids really got a kick out of watching Billy and Gracie in the seal pool. The hotel was very easy to get to from the freeway. It is on the beach of the marina and has a great pool/spa...what more could you ask for!

Not bad, could be better

Visit to Sea World and Zoo. Location is excellent. About 3km to Sea World and 4to 5km to Zoo.Location right on Mission Bay and the beach was good for the kids. Good swimming pool and nice large hot, hot tub. The room price reflects the location as the hotel itself could do with more modernization.

Pleasant experience

This was our anniversary getaway, the location was perfect. Our room had a great view of the bay, was especially pretty at night with the lights. Very happy with all the ammenities of the room (kitchen and supplies) Looking forward to bringing the kids on the next vacation. The only thing we wish we could have gotten was a room with 1 king bed and not two double beds, two queen beds would have even been better, but the double beds are pretty small.

It's like your home

it has a large room including a small kitchen and a large balcony. you do not pay for parking and wireless internet. You can park your car in front of your room. It is close to ocean and seaworld. 10 minutes to downtown. Aircondition is noisy. Fitness room is small but the price comparing to other hotels is very reasonable.

go to a few beaches between LA and SD by not driving from highway. Follow the coast road as long as it is possible. And rent a convertable car.

Great location, within walking distance from favorite restaurants & bars. Rooms were a bit small/cramped. Large price increase for better rooms/views. Did offer complimentary night cruises that we weren't able to go on. The pool is nice.

Sandbar has awesome nightly specials and the best bar tenders, mellow crowd. Roberto's is always good at any hour. The wavehouse at Mission beach is a cool place to check out, especially if you're into surfing
