nice place with thin walls
It is nice little hotel located at a nice little bay. The gym, as in most hotels, is poorly equipped with free weights, in fact they are lacking. The only other complaint I can make is due to the thin walls, if you have a loud neighbor it may be little bit disrupting, otherwise excellent value for the money.

Stay January 21 to 28, 2012
In short, I have been in cleaner and nicer very cheap motels. The furniture was in terrible condition (tears in the sofa cushions, thread-bare bed spreads, dirty carpet, and the bathroom had mold on the grout and the bottom of the tub was patched and awful. Maid service was sub-par including one day when the maid did not come in despite our being out all day (and no we did not leave a "do not disturb" sign on the door. When we called the front desk to complain about the maid service we received a "we are sorry" but no follow up.

Amazing
I live here in San Diego but my husband and I wanted a nice get away for the weekend. This did not disappoint the room was recently renovated and was very nicely done. We were just off the water so the view was fantastic, we were able to see the fireworks from Sea world and wake up to the great ocean view in the morning. Their grounds were beautifully landscaped and at the very front of the hotel they have an enclosed pool with two seals who were rescued which was a really cool feature. We were given complimentary ferry boat tickets so we ventured out that evening to partake in the ride, it went from the Bahia to their sister hotel the Catamaran and back. We will definitely book here again for another visit.

January at the Bahia
Upon arriving we encountered very professional, friendly staff. The overall feel of the room was a little outdated, but it was comfortable, except for the mattress on one bed. The room was clean, and ours included a small but full kitchen. There was a stove and microwave plus pots, utensild and plates. We could walk to the beach from the hotel, there is also a private beach at the resort. It was too cold to swim in the water in January. Same for the pool. There were people using the pool and hot tub, but we opted out because of the weather. We liked the restaurant and bar. Good food. Intimate bar setting with a Moroccan theme. All the staff we encountered were courteous. One thing we thought was strange was there was a banquet hall on the fifth floor of our building. Our first night there, Saturday, there was a big party in there. It was rather loud, but the staff had warned us it would be going on until midnight. And we were too jet lagged that day to care about it much. The worst part was when we returned to our room one day and found that the door was left unlocked, assumably by the cleaning staff, however, nothing was missing from our room.

Great Christmas surprise for our daughter
The hotel was really nice, loved the staff, location, amenities, had a great view from the room. They had upgraded our room from Garden view to the bay view, even before we got there. The only thing they need to upgrade/change would be that the hotel is little older, carpet had some stains on it. furniture was old, bathroom had some rust as well. But all in all it was perfect, recommend it to everyone.
