Family vacation

The staff was very helpful whether giving directions, recommending places to eat, or just making sure our room was neat and tidy. The kids loved the pool and the hotel location was great. We would definitely stay there again.

Family Spring Break

The location is great, close to Sea World, beach, and highways for quick access to the zoo and downtown. The amenities (pool, private beach, rentals, cafe) are quite nice. HOWEVER, the rooms are dirty and outdated, and cleaning service took forever, even after special requests. Tough to handle with three kids under the age of 8.

Good location

First of all, it did not begin well, they placed us in a room right below the ballrooms where there were 2 weddings going on until who knows how long. Then there was no hot water one evening, the elevators and the dryer in the laundry room were not working. After telling the supervisor, he was kind enough to give us some meal vouchers.

Spring Break

Great San Diego location - close to Sea World, Belmont Park, beaches, the airport and shopping. Easy driving to LaJolla, Balboa Park and Wild Animal Park. Renting a car is important in San Diego, because cabs are expensive and public transportation is not as convenient as in other large cities. This is a beautiful location for weddings, so if you are staying over a weekend and go to bed early, I would suggest asking for a room away from the festivities. We asked for a room in a quiet location, and were given one in a very peaceful location overlooking the Bay. The room wasn't renovated, but a quiet room was more important to us than new carpet! Very comfortable beds - nothing like the hard beds that are so common at the Mexico resorts.

Entertainment tip: In Hotel

For those of you traveling without young children - there is a Happy Hour every afternoon with several $5 appetizers and $4 well drinks. Older children (we have a 16 year old) are allowed in the bar area, as long as your group doesn't sit at the bar.

Bahia disappointing

The room was not at all as they portray on their web site. We were five in the room, as reserved but the fold out had springs sticking out which wasn't fixed when we complained. Kitchen had very few cooking utensils, cupboards old and needs updating. Bathroom fan did not work and the tiles were permanently stained, looking dirty (still the small tiles from years ago, Television and furnishing were old. Was told that the renovated section (middle section where office is) would not accommodate the size of my family.

Bahia late February

Staff seemed nice, the room was okay nothing special, no flat screen tv but we didn't watch much tv. No microwave that would have been nice. Seal pool was neat, extra large hot tub was nice, pool was a nice size but in late february it was not warm, though if you actually swam it wasn't terrible. Watch out for the duck dung on the walk ways. there was some kind of sewage work going on in the bay so we did not attempt to swim on the hotels beach, i'm pretty sure water was cold anyway. The free boat ride on the weekend nights was a nice add on for staying at the hotel. We didn't try the hotel food, there are too many nice restuarants around San Diego to try. The location was perfect close to sea world, zoo about 10 minute drive in rush hour, pacific beach close, ocean beach, old town, gas lamp area, harbor, airport, and point loma all not far. I wouldn't stay here for the beach I wasn't that impressed. Overall a nice place to crash for the night before heading out for a days adventure around San Diego.

Solid stay

Location is great if you want to be close to PB and Mission Beach. My room overlooked the bay, had a great patio with comfy chaise lounge, a fridge, comfy king size bed, good sized flat screen and good bathroom. Seems things were fairly recently updated, as the room carpet, bathroom tile, etc. were all in good condition. I think the only drawback is the restaurant, but I can't confirm that as I didn't eat there. Quiet at night, and overall a great stay.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Costa Brava restaurant in PB for dinner is awesome. Quaint Spanish tapas bar hidden away with great service, awesome menu and fun ambiance. Sit at the bar and enjoy the sharing, conversation, etc.

Fabulous!

I have stayed here before and this time I was in one of the newly remodled rooms and they are beautiful, clean and welcoming. There were only a couple things that would have made my stay even better. If they had a room service menu that also provided child meals and when I ordered fruit they were completely out. Other then that it was a great stay, the room, staff, very clean, great parking, great location!
