BEST WESTERN PLUS Blue Sea Lodge

The front desk staff was extremely rude. The trip was almost ruined when the front desk guy was rude because I asked to upgrade. He made sure to tell me they didn't make any money off this deal. Then the shower wasn't hot so he told me was a central boiler and it was just too bad. The room and amenities were good though and the location was fantastic. Good overall. But I would spend more for better service.

perfect spot...you can walk to everything...car service available right in the lobby.the staff is friendly and anxious to help.if your looking for a place to chill out and not break the bank this is it. if there wasa draw back it was of my own doing.i should have planned to go in september rather then november...being from florida it was cold for us! but the weather was great no rain..we really enjoyed it...

The room was very nice, the partial oceanview room had a great view of the ocean. Location couldn't be better, Right on the beach and close to all the attractions. Had a great time in San Diego.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location (at an affordable price) to watch the surfers and play in the waves in PB. Out the hotel door and you're on the beach. Lots of great restaurants and nightlife in PB, and its just a short ride to Hillcrest and other attractions.

On the beach, plenty of restaurants around, good walking atmosphere. Night staff helpful for restaurant ideas. Temperature outside was cooler but had a hard time cooling off the room

Very clean. Excellent location on beach. Don't need a car to get to a variety of places to eat. Would be nice if the room descriptions indicated if the room had just a shower or included a bath tub. Nice pool. Thought it was strange they didn't have a stand of area attractions or brochures in the lobby. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel by far has the best staff I have ever experienced!! Thank you for a great visit!

This was an interesting trip with disappointments as well as fun surprises. We were disappointed with the lack of a shuttle from the hotel to various places such as SeaWorld, Old Town & San Diego Zoo. Warning do not take the metro system(bus) we found the drivers to be very unfriendly and the schedule is very complicated to read. The pool/hot tub was great fun when we could use it as most of the time it was over run by children- even late at night. There is no continental breakfast provided for free- a limited menu was available each morning for purchase. The paying to park was unexpected but worth it as it was security patroled at night.The best part was the nightly greetings we received from the desk clerks especially [...] - he took an interest in our days activities, and recommended ways to get from place to place as well as places to eat. He made sure we felt right at home. The view from the pool area is amazing however be prepared to be on display thru the window. The maid service was top notch and we would definitely stay there again expecially since they gave us a thank you discount on our next stay.

Overall experience was wonderful. Great location right on the sandy beach, boardwalk and boardwalk life/shops/restaruants. Nice pool and jaccuzi to relax in both overlooked boardwalk activities. The only negative for us was that the front desk staff was not familiar with basic hotel amenities. Like pool hours, how to retrieve hotel phone messages, vending machine issues.

This encounter was accompanied with spring break and for 3 nights we had to endure parties in the hallway and adjoining rooms up and past 3 A.M. This was totally unexceptable. These young people should have been evicted after the first night.
