Hybrid lodging is part hostel, part hotel
The 500 West Hotel bills itself as a new approach to lodging: Accommodations are part upscale hostel, part hotel. Rooms are small but jam-packed with modern conveniences such as flat-screen TVs and work stations. Bathrooms are shared and guests also have access to a communal kitchen. - Our family room has 2 sets of bunk beds with detached bathrooms. It is perfect for a family of up to four wishing to stay close while enjoying the city. Great location!
Very friendly staff. Close to everything and cheap as well! Rooms were also clean and not as small as I imagined. Very good for students and people on a tight budget.

relaxing setting
My family and I really enjoyed the park and trail to walk and unwind. The pool is small but we swam and layed in the sun and truley enjoyed our stay.

great value
I was in San Diego to visit my son who is stationed in the Marines out there. I knew we wouldn't be spending much time in our room and I was looking for a great deal. Well, I found it. The 500 West was a great value and A great location. The staff was very friendly and the resaurant was great.

Cheap, Great location.
The 500 West Hotel is close to everything on Broadway street in San Diego. The buildings nearby are beautiful and the harbor is a short walk away. It is also near the Airport and Greyhound station if you are traveling. The room was small, but clean and well-kept, and had a nice view of the street below. The hotel staff were very pleasent and it was easy to check in and out.

Great for the price!
They let me check in very early in the morning after a long red-eye flight, which was much appreciated! The housekeeping staff was also very thoughtful! Awesome location (next to trolley and amtrak station; 10 minutes from the airport) and great experience overall.... very affordable!
