3 day getaway with Friend

The location was PERFECT. Didn't even take our car - took AMTRAK and just walked over to the Vagabond. Old Sacramento was the Main reason for our Visit and it was just outside our front door. The morning Breakfast Buffet was just Perfect. Considering the cost of eating out, this feature alone, was worth the price of the room. Everything you could ask for - Homemade Waffles, Fresh Fruit, Muffins, Milk, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Toast, Coffee, Cereal, Pastries - you name it. And, you could eat inside, or take your tray outside by the beautiful Pool. What a fun Vacation we had.

Great location, nice stay.

The location of Vagabond is fantastic! Very easy on and off the I5, and one block away from Old Town and K Street Mall was a huge plus. The room was adequate - no frills, not super clean but comfy bed. The free breakfast was really nice! The whole place smelled like fresh buttermilk waffles, which were very tasty. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

More than it looks at first glance

This hotel is located near Old Sacramento but 10 blocks away from the Convention Center, where my convention was. When I first entered the room I though it would be a run of the mill hotel, the room styling is very typical. However the breakfast was awesome for its class and it was close to Amtrak and hence public transportation. I recommend it though I wish the staff at the reception was more forthcoming with the paperwork I asked of them

Great Location

I was taking an early Amtrak and was looking for something close enough I could walk to it and the Vagabond Inn fit the bill. Right across the street, and it was a very very nice hotel on top of it all. My daughter dropped me off after we spent the day at Old Town Sacramento, just two blocks away. The staff was great and the rooms clean and comfortable

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Although the train is depot is just across the street you do have to go the corner to cross and this time of year for an early morning trip its still dark out, I said to myself that a woman doing this (walking there) could be scary

Nice place for the price.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while visiting a friend in the area, the bed and pillows were nice and comfortable and the location was right near old town. The price was good for its location lots to do in that area with little to no driving. All and all a pretty good deal.

Its not all about Location!

I wanted to be close to Old Town and I really hit that on the nose. We were just about across the street. However, the hotel is in major need of fixing up. Everything in the room was old and tattered. The floor lamp next to the table had to lean against the table to say up right. It did have clean sheets, clean towels, but the rest of the room seemed dirty. The stain on the bench by the TV was interesting. The staff was friendly I probably wouldnt stay there ever again.

did the job.....

We came into town for a concert, this hotel was in walking distance to the show and to down town Old Sac. Upon arrival the staff was helpful, room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Free breakfast was hot and pretty good. We will visit this hotel again in the future. But stay away from the Dennys in the parking lot, it is garbage.

Well placed for the old town but also for the I-80 and the railroad

We had a good stay here for one night en route from Yosemite to the Napa Valley. Very clean and a nice pool and basic gym. Useful free breakfast. The only downside was the noise of the adjacent road and rail. Felt safe and a very short walk to the historic old town which was rather empty.
