Historic California building with modern touches in downtown Sacramento
The Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel offers a rare chance to stay in a 1920s-era Beaux-Arts building. A preserved facade at the corner of two of Sacramento's most vibrant streets, 13th and J, is the entrance to a vaulted-ceiling atrium that was once the Public Market Building. This conference-friendly hotel was restored and opened in 2001.Highlights:
- Walk to State Capitol and Sacramento Convention Center
- Large meeting and banquet facilities
- Non-smoking property
- Free high-speed Internet in lobby business center
Rooms
In tune with the historic flair of the building itself, rooms are timeless in understated brown leather, suede upholstery and white Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds. City views are available from the hotel's 26 stories. Refrigerators are available in a select number of the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel's more than 500 rooms and suites (fees apply). High-speed Internet access is available (fees apply). Order room service from the on-site restaurant. Rooms on preferred-guest club floors are more recently renovated.
Features
Self and valet parking are off the ground level (fees apply). Fitness facilities include a 24/7 workout room and outdoor lap pool. An art deco club lounge offers refreshments and upgraded services to Sheraton Club members.
Dining
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served to a mostly-business clientele at on-site California cuisine Morgan's Central Valley Bistro restaurant. Mid-day diners get Wi-Fi with their Dungeness crab salad or seared salmon lunch. Coffee, espresso bar, sandwiches and salads are also available on-site at Glides Market Café throughout the day. Soft piano music and a California wine list set the evening ambiance for Morgan's "California Fusion" dining. The on-site lounge at Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel, Public Market Bar, serves bites and cocktails until midnight.

Short drive from hotel
Old downtown Sacramento was so cute. We ate at Fat City's Bar and Grill. My mouth is watering just thinking about the delicious food! I had the half chicken with the mashed potatoes and green beans and boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwhich. Everything was soo delicious. I cant wait to go back!

Great hotel! Great price!
We were very happy with the hotel! Very clean and up-to-date' Staff was very helpful directing us to Old Town Sac as well as dinner. All was in walking distance! The only thing we were irritated with was the parking. We weren't told at all that there was fee for parking! To our surprise the charge for 2 nights was $72! Oh the hotel offered us a discount for paying through them and since we were a guest but still! When you don't come from a place where there is a charge for parking you don't expect it. Everything else about our stay was great! When we needed non-down pillows they were promptly brought up with a smile! We have stayed at several hotels recently and we were by far happiest with this hotel stay!

Nice Hotel
Sheraton hotel was very nice looking and clean. Parking is about two blocks away and cost about $19 a day. Valet was $25. Very expensive to eat at the restuarant but the food and service was great. Internet access costs about $10 a day, which I find to be ridiculus. I have stayed in cheaper hotels that don't charge for their internet access, it's usually part of the package/hotel room costs. The Cafe was closed and didn't open while we were there. I think it was due to the holiday. However, they advertised the cafe as a available for guests. The coffee in our room only provides for single servings and they only provided a couple of servings. I like hotels that have a regular coffee pot, so we could bring our own coffee and make more than a couple of cups of coffee. Most hotels coffee packets make weak coffee and don't taste very good. Some of us really like to drink coffee and shouldn't have to leave our room constantly to get it or pay expensive prices for room service.

Even Good for Families
I've stayed at the Hyatt for business before and wanted to stay there again because I knew the area well. It was the first time my family was in Sacramento with me. The room we were given was great and the kids loved it. We stayed on the 19th floor and had fabulous views-we even watched the fireworks at Raley Field. The room had two big window seats and my 6year old son used one for his bed. The convenience of the proximity to the Capital Park, great restaurants in Midtown and Old Town was perfect for my family so we were able to let the kids walk around and get out some energy. They also loved the swimming pool.

Short walk from hotel
My favorite restaurant is Paisanos on Capital Ave. in Midtown. The food is fabulous and reasonably priced. They gave the kids balls of pizza dough to play with. Zocalo across the street is also good.If you want an early inexpensive breakfast, Steamers in Old Town is the place and the you can walk around from there. Also, Trailmix across from the train museum if a great store for kids who like science and nature stuff.

this was a ok hotel, for the price
positive: Hotel is very close to downtown activity and old Sacramento. You can walk anywhere from there. Very friend staff and it was clean and prompt service. Nice room service. Very nice gym with multiple machines and a lot of space. Very very nice view if you are 20+ floor. We had 22. negative: Hotel did not have Wi-fi, actually have to pay extra $9 for internet in the room. Only floor 2 has internet and you only have 45 min to use it. The pool has such position that in a very sunny day you only get sun in the pool chairs for like 3 hours almost like 12-3. If the tall building next door ever gets demolish this wont be a problem. In addition, the room did not have a small refrigerator, we had some beers and had to cold them in the bath top with ice from the machine. No bagel/toast breakfast included (which again for the price it would had been nice)

you most try Pizza Rock pizzas, very very good. If you want a down time and relax after meal you can go to the close Imax or for some more indie movie fans there is also an independent movie theater very cool. Old Sacramento is very close to walk to and also check out the Pyramid brewery and the coffee place for breakfast/snacks amburia or something like that only open from thrus-sat.

Great Support and Helped for Disabled
In town for a conference at a diffferent hotel, I choose the Sheraton due to better price. I was instantly given support for my needs (physical limitations)and meet staff who went above and beyond what was needed. The room was wonderful and was easy to move around in. The staff were able to meet my needs and help whenever I needed it. I was happy to find the green trend had come to the Sheraton. I received a free meal after accumlaing coupons for not getting new towels or my room cleaned every night. The restaurant had delicous (but very rich) food, too. Excellent computer area for travelers to print there tickets and spend time on the internet. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and can't wait to go back!

If you are getting a rental car from Enterprise there are two different locations. There is one at the airport and another 5 minutes from the hotel. If you are paying for mileage (I was not), you could save some cash by taking the shuttle to the hotel and getting the car from that location.
