Decent room, nothing more.
There is no service. The staff don't know anything about anything. Don't bother asking for anything beyond a room and a bed. It's a decent, clean place, but nothing more. Sad, considering what the Red Lion once was. If you just need a room for the night, hey, it's great.

Okay experience for the price. My room was on the ground floor with the door to the parking lot. Thin walls so lots of outdoor noise. Free wi-fi and thick towels was a plus. Booked during the weekend and there must have been on-site events so when I came home after dark, several entrances were blocked off so I had to drive around to find a clear entrance and then drive to my room. Maybe more lights and signage would be helpful since it is a large complex.

Shopping tip:
Long walk from hotel
For a single, female traveler, this may not be the place since there are only two levels to the "hotel" with your main door to the parking lot. But your car is right outside!

Shopping Weekend
Girlfriend's shopping weekend was great. The room was really big and comfortable. The beds were great and a nice place to unwind after hours of shopping. Would definately book a reservation here again.

The staff was very helpful, but
The staff was very helpful, but my biggest complaint is the improper advertising. The pictures on the internet DO NOT reflect the current conditions at this hotel. There was no working jacuzzi, the restaurant was not open for bkfst or lunch, the rooms had not been upgraded, the ice machine did not work, the key pad would not accept our key card, the fitness room was only 10X10 and had 3 machines. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING AND I WANT A REFUND. I would never have booked a room if the pictures were a true reflection of the property. I will not recommend this hotel.

Not bad, but needs improvement
I used to stay at the Red Lion during the 80s and 90s when this was the premier place to stay. It has become rundown, and old. There is no internet in the rooms (you need to go to the lobby). The beds are really soft, too soft. The facility is large, and mostly empty. There is only one hot tub, and it is on the other side of the complex. The good part is that the rooms are clean, and the housekeeping staff does a get job keeping the rooms clean. This place was about $100 less per night, and it is quite. The rooms are large and clean. I would stay here again.

Not my first pick
Hotel lobby was gorgeous and the grounds looked really nice. But when we got into our room is was small and crammed. Paint on walls was chipping and several things in the room were slightly broken or about to break. Thought the rooms were pretty run down. In great location and surrounded by lots of things to do.

Red Lion Sacramento
one night stay after flying in late. Nothing special. Heat was not working in room. Someone came and said the filter needed changing. That still didn't resolve it. 63 top temperature in the room was ok if you stay under the covers.

Dining tip:
In Hotel
Not much selection and salsa music on friday, if you aren't going to dance was too much to contend with, so we went elsewhere, but there is plenty else close by.
