well it was nice!

So this hotel ROCKED MY SOCKS! very clean for a Motel 6 hotel. The location was close to everything you could need! It was a short walk to all necessities! On the other hand, the other customers of the motel weren't of the best possible tenants.

well just another motel 6

Well it was decently located around alot of shopping abilities. The staff was very nice and helpful! But the rooms aren't all too great and not the best cleanliness possible, but overall good stay.

Has Gone Downhill in 4 Years...

The last time I stayed here 4 years ago it was a good value and relatively comfortable. I had two different rooms, we'll call them room 1 and room 2. I got in late, and room 1 had a smoky odor but I'm usually not too picky about that and went to bed. The next morning I think I may have smoked a carton of cigarettes in my sleep. It was really actually very, very bad. Even for myself who generally doesn't mind it too much this was intolerable. I got a room change to room 2, which still had smoke odor but was better. I let the room with window open and fan on to air out ALL DAY until 10pm. It still had a tinge to it, and by the next morning the family that came to pick me up commented that it was worse than the day before. I CANNOT stress how outrageous it was that they would even try and put a guest in room 1. I hang out with plenty of smokers that smoke in their homes, cars, etc.... and that room smelled like it had been smoked in for several decades. I think both rooms were also full of another odor... I'm not sure if it was something to try and mask the smoke or if it was fumes from something (fresh paint?) but it was also foul and hurt to breathe. Room 1's bed was extremely uncomfortable. I slept much better in room 2 until another patron pounded on my door at about 2:30AM, before realizing she was looking for the room next door and pounding on that door instead. After that a sequence of loud conversations occurred; first outside the room on her mobile phone and then inside the room with another patron of the motel. Aside from all that and the bath towels that looked like they were used in a children's finger-painting class (which were not left in the room, I had to ask for them), and I'm not sure where I'm going to stay the next time I'm up here. I tried this place 4 years ago and it was better. I tried the Good-Nite Inn across the bridge and it was a small step down. And after going back to the 6, this is a step down from there for more money. Next time I think I'm just going to sleep on a relative's floor.

Disappointing.

I traveled to Sacramento to run a 50-mile race. We chose the Motel 6 Central because it was just minutes from the start of the race. My heart sank when I walked into the room and saw the pitifully concave mattresses on the beds. I needed a good night's sleep before my race, but I tossed and turned all night, always sinking toward the middle of the bed. My husband chose to sleep on the floor. At least the floor was flat. Another frustration was that we needed WIFI, but it didn't work until the second day. Room was clean, but y'know, sleep is fairly important--especially when you have a big day ahead. We'll find another motel next time.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

American River Parkway is close to the motel. There is a paved bike path which stretches for miles and miles along the river. Great place for running, cycling, or a nice walk. Beautiful views of the river.

Great Staff Noisy guests

Just passing through, so looking for an inexpensive place to rest my bones. But I chose the wrong place. The Motel has become an apartment complex or transition for the criminal or juvenile. The Sheriffs dept. stopped by for a couple of pickups through the night, the drunk or partying loud people were roaming the back side of the motel, and there was absolutely nothing the staff or police could do to stop it. I didn't get a wink of sleep, so I called the front desk, and they were amazingly understanding trying to stop the chaos. The management gave me my money back for the night I didn't stay for the reservation while all along appologizing profusely for the behaviors of others who they had no control. If you need a place to stay that is inexpensive, this motel is a good place as long as you don't care about the noise. SUGGESTION call and ASK if they've put a security guard in the back area (running along side the freeway) where the trouble seemed to be located! The Staff was great!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Everything you could need was in a short walk away! The Motel has vending machines, Ice, and next door is a Dennys, across the street are taco bell, mccdonalds, and convienience store. CSU Sacramento is just down the street too. There are no amenities in the rooms!

Animal friendly which was a must.

We requested a room on the first floor. Because we have a small dog we did not want to be right next to the reception office. They put us on the second floor instead. It kept the noise down. The number of television channels was small, however we did not go to watch television so that was adequate.

Denny's restaurant is adjacent to the motel. Cal State Sacramento is directly down the road and a short drive away.
