Westin Villa for Birthday
Super nice room, great place with kids, we were there for Mother's Day weekend. Main pool near Villas was super crowded, we got there Friday and it looked like a bomb had gone off around the pool. The staff, which was very young and not well trained, not 4 or 5 star caliber, indicated that they were short staffed, that was clear. Pool was used and abused at the end of each day but people were having a blast. The main restaurant Pinzimmi, do not go, barely staffed, poor food for the price, slow service, multiple tables sat unbussed for the entire hour we were there. We are not complainers and would come back to this resort and skip the in hotel dining and go to a different pool, there are four. It really seemed like the staff supervision and training was weak here, almost like there is an entire level of missing middle management. $ 15 per day for parking and one night we could barely find a spot and had to park a very long walk from our villa at the check in area. I would not go here again on a "holiday" weekend, spring break etc. The pool guys said the weekend prior, first weekend in May there were only about 30 people at the pool, when we were there, it was probably 200 plus. The room was outstanding, room service was great, maids were great, we had a 1 bedroom villa. If you get this at $ 175 or less, go for it, do not pay more. We would go again in a second, but only at a cut rate price.

Good choice for families on the go
The Westin Mission Hills Villas offer perfectly adequate accomodations for a short visit to Palm Springs -- especially for a family that intends to make use of the kitchenette and the numerous swimming pools on the property. The rooms are clean, efficient and very similar to what you'd find at an Embassy Suites, only not so well laid out and a little more cramped. Westin hopes to sell these as timeshares, which I cannot imagine. This is cheesebox construction, like a low to middle quality apartment complex except these aren't apartments. It's all cheaply built and cheaply equipped and must be a constant nightmare to repair and maintain. The fact that they charge $15 to park is insulting since the parking is completely inadequate.

Great Location Great Value
Ever been to a hotel or resort where some, most or all of the things in your room, such as the TV, or AC or Heating don't work and you find yourself calling the front desk for repairs. Not at The Westin. Everything worked perfectly. Not one problem. Our One Bedroom was Large with a nice kitchen, full size refrigerator, a washer and dryer and a very large bathroom with instant hot water in the shower as well as in the bathroom and kitchen sinks. The Location was also perfect. Just turn out the gate, turn right and in 2 minutes you are at Costco, Walmart, and 3 or 4 really good restaurants less than 1 mile away on Dinah Shore, which is the same street the Westin is on. Highly recommend Burgers and Beer for Great Food at Reasonable Prices and Large Portions. Same for The Pizza by the Slice Restaurant next door to Burgers & Beer. I held back a little on the Room Comfort rating only because the Sofa Bed was too hard to sit on while watching TV. I know that is what you get when you have a sofa bed. They are Not Soft by Nature. There were only two of us so we didn't need a sofa bed and would have preferred the option of a room that had a regular comfortable sofa. Speaking of comfort, the Bed in the Bedroom was the softest most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Would like to buy one for my own home. Room had Two Flat Screen TVs and Free WiFi all of which worked perfectly as well as all the dishes, glasses and silverware you will ever need. Room was Extremely Quiet and we never heard any noise from the surrounding rooms or from outside. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Value
Our experience at the Westin was wonderful in so many ways. The only complaint we had was the noise coming from the room above on our last night. We never registered our complaint because we spent 3 of the 4 days wihout anyone in the room above and were checking out the next day.

Short drive from hotel
If you tour the Joshua Tree National Park and only have a few hours, consider focusing on the northwest corner of the park. We entered from the south and spent much time driving through barren terrain before reaching the NW corner!

Great place to stay
Enjoyed everything about this place except the 15$ plus tax parking fee per night, that is real cheesy for a place like this, it is not like I can park anywhere else. Other then that, it is a very nice place and the staff was first rate. We will stay here again unless I can find a better place that does not have the parking fee.

Room and service was excellent
As the title states it was all fine, a bit out of the way but really good service and comfort. Only thing that bothered me was the food i ate at their over priced over stated restaurant that served low quality meal at really high price. The breakfast was a joke but cost a bunch. I recommend for sleeping but just order out next time i go
