Bad Experience
We had a terrible time at this Resort and would not recommend it to anyone. The pool and the cleanliness of the Hotel was a disgrace. When we went to the restaurant there (Bluember) to have breakfast, the hostesses were extremely rude and not friendly at all, making us feel very uncomfortable. We had a major problem with the restaurant too, and the cleanliness of it. The tables were not cleaned quickly (at least 20 mins) which meant that there were birds flying in and taking food from other tables all the time and none of the waitresses/waiters would get rid of the birds, they just walked passed uncleaned tables with the birds on (I have photos and videos of it) Also there were bins in an area where the waiters and waitresses served drinks and cleaned up, where the birds were going into and taking food from. It really was disgusting and very unhygienic. If the health Authority went in they would close the restaurant down. I have a 11 month old baby and the birds were vermin and I felt very uncomfortable eating there. The pool areas, especially the baby pool there, was dirty, full of again bird muck on the beds so you could not lie on them and the sand pit area dirty. I really would like to complain about this and would never go back there again. In fact, I would like my money back as it was so disgusting and having to deal with unhelpful staff.

Tryed to make it special
Was not worth the money
The vista rooms are far away from the adult area, and should be reserved for groups with children . All the adult activities are on the other end of the hotel and you have to travel the children area to get there. The rooms are clean but just OK! not great.!. I dont mind the cost as long as recieve my monies worth . I would not stay there again.

The facility and room were beautiful. Very quiet and relaxing environment. Xmas decorations were fantastic! We encountered 2 different Conceirge and both were rude. They offered little help and or advice. They are not good representatives for your hotel. All other staff were outstanding.

Not too bad. Pretty basic hotel. Not much of a resort, but they still collect the resort fee. Rooms were clean and spaciouse, and the bed was comfortable. Nice bathrooms. Spacious Shower.

Review of Rancho Las Palmas
Fantastic experience! It was our first time there. The staff was a 7 on a scale of 1-5. The food was excellent. Loved the outdoor patio and live music. The room was immaculate. The golfing was excellent. My wife loved the spa. Everywhere we went the staff was outstanding. A definite "highly recommend" from us.

If you love great Mexican food and enjoy live music, from 1-4:30 Las Casuelas Terraza on Palm Canyon has a great band and terrific food. We loved it so much we went two days in a row.

Couples retreat
Went on a weekend getaway to Las Palmas with my girlfriend. I payed for a king size bed, but when I got there they only had 2 full size beds, and that was not okay. Im over 6 feet tall and 230lbs so my girlfriend and I couldn't fit onto the full size bed together. My girlfriend and I didnt come to Las Palmas to sleep in different beds, so this really wasn't okay and was upsetting, and to make this worse our ac unit was loud and made horrible noise all day and night which made sleeping at night hard. Outside of the room I thought the resort was very nice and had a good time, but knowing that we had to deal with a loud ac and not being able to sleep in the same bed made our stay not as enjoyable as it could have been.

EXPENSIVE but great for kids!
We went to Rancho Las Palmas over Spring Break on the advice of a friend with a child of similar age. The pool area and Splashtopia were great, the kids had a blast! The waterslides were a lot of fun, and the whole family enjoyed the lazy river. The Sunday evening golf cart "drive-in" outdoor movie was a lot of fun, too, especially for kids who've grown up not knowing what a drive-in is. The down side is that one night the hotel lost power for several hours during the night, the next night the hotel satellite TV service crashed (no TV at all that night!), and the following night the satellite crashed again, just at the end of a movie we purchased. They refunded the $16 movie charge, but only after we asked them to at check out. We got a bag of cookies & 2 free waters for the power outage inconvenience. Food & drinks pool-side were pricey ($9 for a kids strawberry-banana smoothie?!) - it averaged $100 a day for lunch & drinks, plus between $25 & $30 for on-site "breakfast" (yogurt & granola parfaits, prepacked cereal, etc.), for a family of 4. It wouldn't have been so bad except they don't allow "outside food" at the pool, so we couldn't bring our own waters or snacks and had to purchase everything from the resort. All in all, now that we know what to expect and how much it costs, we would stay here again - we'd just do a better job of budgeting for the trip.

I say short drive because we have 2 kids, one is 2 1/2, but there's a mall across the street with several different, very reasonably-priced restaurants.
