casa via mar
The staff really tried to make this place more than a motel type place. There was a happy hour with $1 drinks and free breakfast for people staying. The pool and hot tub were also nice. I would come here again. Oh and there are good places to eat in walking distance.

There was a Tokyo style Japanese place within a block that was very good, as well as an italian place called Mariana's that makes good pizza.

Nice, clean, and well-laid-out rooms that includes a great workspace for working or dining. Better than average bed comfort. Working in-room fridge and Wifi. Decent, relatively clean, pool and jacuzzi. Location is wedged between a strip mall and some train tracks. Not as bad as it sounds though. Still quiet at night And the well-kept parking lot, Tennis Courts and Pool House areas make it feel more isolated than it is. Walking distance to pizza and one little Italian place. 1/2 Mile from grocery store. 3 Miles from beach. Staff was cool & helpful. TVs are 27 inch tube models, if that matters to you. No complaints here.

Clean, location and price friendly
It was just what we were looking for. Near our family and places we wanted to visit and the cost was great. The "mini" kitchen was great although not mentioned on the web site. I would have been better prepared if I had known. But was able to purchase what I needed near by. I will definitly return on my next visit.

Great for the Price!
My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for a weekend trip to Santa Barbara and Solvang. It was a last minute trip and although we would have really wanted something in Santa Barbara or Solvang, the only options we found were more than $200 per nite. We decided that a short drive would be worth the hotel savings and it sure was! Casa Via Mar was centrally located, very reasonable, with a clean, well equipped room. The place was SPOTLESS, there wasn't even dust on the light fixture or mineral stains in the shower, it was like new! The room was spacious, had two beds, a sofa, a kitchenette with a stove (cooktop AND oven), microwave, fridge, coffee maker, toaster, garbage disposer, and kitchen table. It even had a balcony with patio doors and a table and chairs outside! It apparently opened in the 1970's and although a little dated, it has been exceptionally cared for, when I travel I don't need a high class hotel since I don't plan on doing anything except sleep there anyway. I would certainly recommend Casa Via Mar and I will most likely stay there again on my next trip to the Santa Barbara area. I also should mention that the staff is friendly, professional, and they have a great hot breakfast every morning with pancakes, eggs, sausage, bagels, cereal, donuts, etc. Can't beat it!

Check out Santa Barbara, Solvang, and if you have kids (or just feel like one sometimes) hit up Golf and Stuff, they have an awesome mini golf course, arcade, go-karts, bumper boats, etc!

Better Than Mom's Extra Room!
Friendly staff, feels like a family business. Facilities are pretty basic - 70's decor, aging amentities - but comfortable. We stay here when visiting family in Oxnard. The peace and privacy at the end of the day is priceless. Fits our needs and the price is right

Had a very nice stay
I had a very nice stay. The front desk got my room ready on a priority when I showed up early. The pool and spa were very clean and heated perfectly. The room was clean and spacious. A little old fashioned but kept up well. Beautiful tennis courts also. Some very nice restaurants within a couple blocks.
