English seaside retreat on California’s Central Coast

Excellent Location for a May vacation
An excellent spot to start the vacation. We visited all of the beaches in the surrounding area. The local restaurants were ideal for our needs.

The factory stores were just a short drive down the road. Also, many shops were by the beach.

No a/c but nice location
hotel was nice pool very small too much cholerine,no maitance calls during night hours!!!! Our fire alarm went off and the front desk was not a big help no maitance calls at night.

Mom, Dad, two little ones
Beautiful View
This was a beautiful spot. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I would not recommend this spot for people with very young children. Carrying two children 3 and under down a long flight of steps to the beach was a difficult task. I also would recommend the rooms closer to the water since the highway is quite loud. When the windows were open we could hear the highway, not the ocean.

Just a dressed up motel!
Towel swans on the bed don't make this a destination hotel. The bathroom was the worst. Very cheaply redone to make this motel into an "inn". Rusty water connection on the toilet. Bathroom had an exhaust fan that sounded like a jet engine. Also, the bath "cabinetry" was a preformed, molded affair-just plain NASTY! Noise from the highway was very LOUD. But don't forget the lovely view of the parking lot. The complimentary breakfast was also a mess and you had to ask for everything. Won't be back!

great room and hotel
great view (up-graded rooms, not all have oceanview) I got a discounted rate for an ocean viewroom. It was a thursday night so I'm not sure what the rates are on the weekend, but this was a perfect deal

Pismo overnight
We stopped at Pismo Beach on the way home from San Diego. Cottage Inn By The Sea is clean, quiet and has great staff. Would stay there again.

Delightful stay.
Cottage Inn by the Sea was a delight. The room was quite large. There was a partial ocean view even though our room was on the opposite side of the property. And the fireplace was a very nice touch as well, nice after a long day at the sand dunes. We would definitely recommend Cottage Inn by the Sea to anyone visiting Pismo Beach. And we will come back to stay there next time as well.
