Viceroy Palm Springs

The hotel is old has a few things such as a loose balcony banister that need some maintenance, but it is clean and the staff ... is very friendly and helpful. Overall the rooms and property are clean and kudos for the grounds as they were fantastic and very well maintained.

GREAT!!!!
KevJas Sep 2, 2009
My partner and I were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and on a whim decided to go to Palm Springs as we had ... never been there before. We hopped online and found what seemed to be two great hotels for relatively inexpensive with a resort feel. A true getaway. We found the Viceroy and the Riviera in downtown Palm Springs. We chose Viceroy on a coin flip! We arrived in Palm Springs late Thursday Evening, drove down the street that we were supposed to be on. At first it was dark and shadowed, we thought we might have made a bad decision but being only steps off Palm Canyon Drive and within moments to a Starbucks we thought "What the hell!?" We couldnt find our hotel!!! Signage is really poor for the Viceroy, but we figured it out. Initial parking was a nightmare but we left out car about a block down the road and walked to the front door, not totally understanding how the Hotel operated regarding Parking and/or Valet service. We walked into the hotel lobby, immediately impressed as the Valet was attentive to our needs immediately and explained that he would take our car around to the parking lot in the back nearest our room while we checked in. Now, one thing Orbitz does not advertise is their is a substantial "incidental's" fee of 150.00/day that they charge against your credit card to cover drinks, mini-bar, etc. The remainder is of course refunded to your card at the end of your stay. As the valet walked us to our room, guiding us through the property we were very impressed. We got to our room, just off the main pool. White WHITE WHITE! The room is stark in White! After the initial shock of the amount of White! We were very pleased. The delicate features of the room are reminiscent of old hollywood and lend great to the Palm Springs history. We went for a walk to check the place out, the lush landscaping, the private terraces, the intimate decor and peaceful calm was VERY VERY nice. The landscaping was breathtaking! As a gay couple we often concern ourselves about "gay-friendly" hotels. We test them by throwing things out to see their reaction such as, "what is the hotel like during gay pride festival?" They answered with flying colours! Immediately saying that the festival was great and that the hotel has many different events going on at all times of the year. We were both impressed at the inclusion of all society! To make this long story short, if you like lush landscaping, old hollywood and are not expecting to spend a fortune but still want the Palm Springs Experience... We highly reccomend this hotel!

Quick getaway

This was me and wife s second visit to viceroy palm springs and it was great. We left from la and got there around 8Pm on an ... impulse for a quick one night get away. When we got there it was little over a 100 degrees We quickly got our room which I thought was a bit aging and very small( however they did offer us a much much bigger room for a resonable price which we declined). We jumped in the pool which was empty and just perfect at night. The grounds are loaded with flowers and trees which for this time of year in palm springs is very cool. The staff is very professional. Finally if u get a late night munch call citron they have the most amazing little appetizers.

Not as great as the pictures...
Go_T Aug 9, 2009
The hotel was not as nice as the pictures. The room as OK but the bathroom as BAD. Tiny bathroom with a small tub/shower. ... The pool on the other had was great and relaxing. But only 1 out of the 3 pools are for families the other 2 are adult pools only. They have Saturday night DJ's and you hear the music in the rooms. Not so great for families.
