Why eat bread when you can eat a latke? Sherman's Deli uses a potato pancake instead of bread in their fabulous pastrami sandwich.
Delicious steak, desert romance, and martinis all under one roof.
Once you try a bite of Elmer's Potato Pancakes, cripy on the outside and steamy in the middle, you will agree that this is one of the best family dining experiences in Palm Springs!
Spectacular views combined with delectable food provide the perfect dining experience. There are two dining options at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Peaks, a fine dining experience with a breathtaking view of the Coachella Valley and Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant. Both restaurants are open for lunch and dinner.

Great stay, a little far from downtown
Johnny Nov 12, 2009
The stay was nice, and they had a pretty decent Continental breakfast. It was a pretty far distance from anything (we like ... to take a cab when we go out at night). Probably find something closer next time. But, I did like the staff and the hotel itself.

Great Place for Low Expectations
kewlbreezes Oct 26, 2009
A very no-frills, pedestrian motel that lacked some of the basics. It advertises air conditioning but it's an air cooling ... system that just recycles the same air. It's always too warm in the rooms! They advertise WiFi and I need that for my business. They only have nine rooms that get WiFi. I took one but never succeeded in logging in to their system. I got lucky and logged in to the Best Western next door. The room was comfortable enough but the TV reception was terrible. The cable wasn't secured tightly. It could be fixed for a few min., but would revert to a bad picture. Overall, not what I had hoped for!

Vagabond Inn Palm Springs
Sam May 26, 2009
Good value for money. It's a big motel with 3 storey building. It could be noisy on the front side and amenities far if you ... are on back side. Location is good, near to Palm Springs downtown and rooms are clean. Swimming pool is small and could get crowded. Continental breakfast is excellent.

Hotel was located within walking distance of many downtown shops and restaurants. Good complimentary breakfast provided by ... the pool in the morning. The only negative thing was that the gardeners arrived at 6:30 in the morning with leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, etc. I heard of several guest who were disgruntled by being awakened at that early hour of the morning, me and my son included. Several phone calls were made to the front desk, but the gardeners stayed.

Middle of the road.
George VW Apr 22, 2009
This hotel is reasonably priced and extremely family friendly. Kids are pretty much allowed to run rampant with no adult ... supervision. The rooms are clean but small. Sheets do not fit the mattress. I would recommend asking for a ground floor room or one on the 2nd floor at most. Water pressure on the 3rd floor is very low. The toilets take several minutes to refill when you flush. The flow from the shower isn't really enough to wash off the soap. The elevator is slow and crowded with 2 people in it. If you have a family of four, plan on 2 elevator trips each time or climbing a lot of stairs. Check-in was quick and efficient. On checkout, they shove a postcard at you pointing out that you are a loser for booking on Orbitz even though the room is the same and price was better than booking direct. We are in Palm Springs frequently, and while this room and hotel are adequate for 1-2 nights, I would place them about lower middle of the pack.

We had no trouble finding the hotel and it is in a good location for getting to the airport and exploring the city. The ... check-in gal was very friendly and helpful on directions to various places. The quality of the rooms was very good and very comfortable for the moderate price of a 1 night stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Your basic, family friendly hotel. Clean, nice pool with lounge chairs, tables and a view of the hills. Good location near ... town. Breakfast included was your basic starch. A waffle maker is fun for kids I would guess. Bagels, cream cheese, cereal, coffee, cellophaned danish... Wish there was fresh fruit.

MORE THAN YOU EXPECT FOR THE MONEY
Adrianne May 20, 2007
THE VAGABOND INN AT PALM SPRINGS WAS A DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE. WE GOT MUCH MORE THAN WE PAID FOR. THE ROOM WAS AS COMFORTABLE ... AS ANY MODERN HOTEL, EVEN THOUGH I'M SURE THIS HOTEL WAS AT LEAST 40 YEARS OLD. MY FAVORITE PART OF OUR STAY WAS THE POOL AREA WITH THE MIST AND THE COMPLIMENTARY CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. THE BREAKFAST INCLUDED FRESHLY MADE WAFFLES, CEREAL, BAGELS, FRESH JUICES AND MUCH MORE. THE ONLY SUGGESTION I WOULD MAKE TO THE HOTEL MANAGEMENT WOULD BE TO RAISE THE SHOWER HEAD A FOOT OR SO. IT WAS TOO LOW FOR ME AND I'M 5'2.
