Great Facade but beware its entrails
Cyndi's sister Sep 13, 2009
The hotel is pretty. Rooms are nice and clean. Overall though the service was chaotic and unorganized. Check in was the ... worst I have ever experienced. We arrived at 4 and were not in our room until 5:30! We ended up getting a room with double beds because they had overbooked the standards with the King Beds. The staff person claimed it would be better because the "room was bigger and could easily move the two Queen beds together to make a bigger bed." LIES! First of all, the beds are not Queen size, but full. Second, there is absolutely no possible way to bring the room together. Also, the hotel was noisy and staff did very little to help that. I doubt I will go back.

The good and the bad!
Sonia Aug 24, 2009
I stayed there with my family for 2 days only. We changed 2 rooms because one had broken bathtub and another one had no ... balcony and broken TV remote. The only problem is that every single additional service requires extra cash. If you want to stay for 2 additional hours after regular check out time, you will pay $50 and so on. Plus I was waiting for 2 hours to get the crib for the baby. All our problems were solved when I got really upset and decided to talk to the manager. I guess if you want to get smth right, you should talk to the right person:) Overall, the place is modern and perfect for young couples, very hip pool and bar!

Nice place, but needs work.
Weekend traveller Jul 5, 2009
Went for 4th of July weekend. We wanted a place with a great pool and fun atmosphere. They had a DJ and there were plenty ... of people - which turned into a problem. I was one of dozens and dozens of guests who were not able to get a pool chair. The room looked cool - but the air conditioner caused some problems, too. it was extremely loud, and turned on and off all night long. Had a horrible nights sleep on what would have been a really comfortable bed. Management was very helpful and gave us a 50$ credit to use at the pool bar. Too bad, a few little fixes and it would be a cool place to visit again.

Glam Baby!
Kate Jul 1, 2009
My spouse and I enjoyed our Sunday - Tuesday stay. They had a very young hip crowd on Sunday for their Bikini Bar/Pool ... party. We enjoyed watching the spectacle (although the smoking in the pool area is quite hateful). Monday and Tuesday were calm and quiet. The property is decorated in retro 50's Glam done very well. Our room was very clean and the bed was great (the pillows are the best we've every encountered). The bathroom had a separate soaking tub. Make sure you know what the "jack pac" for the media station means. We didn't have the cabling to port our IPod or computer into their system (we'd never seen this setup previously). We'll be better prepared next trip. The restaurant was reasonably priced. I had the Pre-fix dinner ($35.00) and it was delightful. It included a complementary glass of champagne (very drinkable) with our meal. The spa is well appointed the treatment rooms are lovely but the co-ed Buddha relaxation room is divine...it's full of glam and yet very relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was excellent!

Riveria Has Great Potential
Kevin Jun 28, 2009
I checked orbitz before booking our hotel and read the reviews. Looks like the previous review highlighting inadequate ... service was spot on. To provide a balanced review, here were good points: booked a pool view room but none were available upon check, they compensated by upgrading us to a junior suite (very nice). Circa 59 doesn't allow you to book reservations on the weekend online - call ahead, it fills up fast (great food, pricey). For the negative - they didn't have enough servers working the pool area (5 folks serving over 200) on Saturday. They also allow folks who live out in town to use the pool (?) so there wasn't any room for folks staying there to put their towel down (at 10:00 AM on a Saturday). Also, they scheduled a fashion show in the lobby on Friday night which was odd - as you had to literally walk down the runway to exit the resort. All in all, it has great potential, but until service improves, not worth 4 star prices.

We totally loved it. Both pools were great. Poolside food was really good. We could not eat at Circa 59 either night ... because we did not have a reservation. They don't seem to give guests any priority seating. Too bad, it looked like it would be nice.

Logistical Nightmare
Robert Dec 30, 2008
The hotel ammeneties were excellent but there staff is not ready for the type off clientele they a after. We waited 2 hours ... to check in. The hostess for the resturant told us she could not seat anyone because the kitchen was backed up. They close at 10pm and we were there at 9:15pm. Also room service closed at 11pm. We found this un-exceptable. The staff is far from ready to handle the volume of guests they had.
