Shabby and Tacky

Unfriendly front desk associates. Dirty shaby rooms. Leftover barf in the hallway that was not ceaned up while I was there for over a day. GROSS. Main pool you'd have to get up at 5am to save a spot. By 7:30 nothing left. Deep End Pool small and the only saving grace to the trip was the pool attendant [...]. Everyone (except for [...]) were rude, unhelpful and edgy. Will never stay there again. For just getting a facelift they surely missed the mark. Old Vegas meets Old Palm Springs. Wow, what a miss all around.

not worth it

the service was incredibly mediocre. We arrived early and even tho the lobby wasn't busy, they didn't have rooms ready for check in. When I went back four hours later, at scheduled time, they still weren't and now the lobby was a madhouse. Food was mediocre, wait staff was mediocre, amenities were mediocre, it was very frustrating. There were also some very loud families who were so rude and disrespectful of other vacationers!

Worse night in my entire life

We booked 2 rooms for 4 people( 2 people each room) and I had my parents coming from Italy and visit palm springs and by references me and my wife we decide to gift them with a room at Riviera. We checked in and we got rooms in 2 difference floors was really inconvenient, but that was nothing is understandable, the worse thing is that our bed had mattresses like bathtub we were sleeping( or if you can call that sleeping just 1 hour) with matrasse 30 inch below the frame. Of course none of us slept and we got bad headache and back pain day next. We called the desk they sent somebody to check and they find out what was the problem they fix it and then they asked us why we didn't check the bed, which I don'think is my job after we paid rooms 176 dollars each, then they told us that they will report to the desk about the problem so we could get some refund. We went to the desk they didn't know about this issue because nobody never reported they apologize for that and canceled our resort fee wich was 28 dollars per room and we have been told that somebody will take care about what happen and contact us and may give us refund. But of course still didn't ear from them.WHAT A NIGHTMARE !!! WE WILL NEVER COME BACK AND WE WILL NOT RECCOMEND THE HOTEL TO ANYBODY BECAUSE WE HAD OUR BAD EXPERIENCE WIRH MY PARENTS ALREADY THAT WAS ENOUGH!!

gone downhill

My family has been staying at this resort every May for the last 4 yrs. It has always been excellent. This year the management treated us like an annoyance instead of guests. We occupied 3 rooms this year. One of the rooms had no air conditioning for 3 of the 4 days we were there despite many calls for repair. The average temp during our stay was 100 degrees. We were not offered a new room or any compensation for this. I had to request an adjustment on the bill, After I did they removed the "resort fee" of $28 plus tax ($31) which they charge daily, for those particular 3 days. This fee is always charged above and beyond the expensive room fee you pay at check in. The remaining 2 rooms lost their air conditioning for 1 day each which was repaired on the day it was lost and one of those rooms had an intermittant odor of sewage for the entire 4 day stay. When I complained to the front desk someone was sent to the room but nothing was done. At check out I was treated rudely by the manager who told me she had no notation of the complaint and while she made a 2 day "resort fee" adjustment she made it clear it was my own fault for not asking for another room. The ice machines on 2 of the 3 floors were not working for the entire 4 days. Getting the attention of the bartender at the pool was very difficult despite the fact that we were the only people at the bar. On the last night we were there a small group of people rented a cabana at the pool which is in the courtyard beneath the guest rooms. They were allowed to get drunk and scream, yell and vomit on the patio surrounding the pool until 4:00 in the morning. We will not be returning.

A VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER

I BOOKED THIS HOTEL FOR A FAMILY GETAWAY BECAUSE IT WAS OUR 5 YEAR ANNIVESARY AND MOTHER'S DAY THE SAME DAY. WHEN WE GOT TO THE HOTEL IT WAS SO NICE & COLORFUL LIKE VEGAS HOTEL AND WE FREQUENT IN VEGAS. BUT WHEN WE GOT IN THE ROOM IT SMELLED LIKE URINE, I HAD TO SPRAY THE ROOM DOWN WITH PERFUME JUST TO STAY IN THERE & I BOOKED 2 BEDS BECAUSE WE BROUGHT OUR 9YR OLD DAUGHTER & WE WERE GIVING 1 BED & WE WEREN'T ABLE TO GET ANOTHER ROOM BECAUSE IT WASN'T AVAILABLE, ALSO THE BATHROOM HAD ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER THE BATHROOM COUNTER & THE JACUZZI IS SO DIRTY ITS LIKE THEY HAVEN'T CLEAN IT IN WEEKS. THE REASON I BOOKED THIS HOTEL IS BECAUSE OF THE EXCELLENT PICTURES THAT'S ON THE WEBSITE, PEOPLE SAY DON'T JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER. THEY ARE SO RIGHT!

Very VERY unorganized

well when we first got there the line to check in was astronomical. then when i finally arrived at the front of line they told me my room was not clean yet. we sat at the pool (with my 8 month son) for an HOUR AND A HALF until i finally screamed and they gave me a room. They were an hour and half for room service night one and the next night i wanted water for my baby formula and it took another hour and half because they got confused and put in wrong room. Thy have no drinks in the room, you have to call for anythign. god forbid you wake up dehydrated.

Mixed feelings about hotel

The decor was stunning and the staff that met us on arrival were wonderful. That's where it ended. The planned activity poolside the one night was cancelled at the last minute and it was the only thing we had decided before leaving we would DEFINITELY do for the kids. It was an icecream social, "dive-in" movie (you lie in the pool and watch a movie) followed by toasting marshmallows. We cut our day's activities short to be there, arrived at the pool and found.. nobody. After looking for someone, we were told it was cancelled. No reason. It was really hard to console the kids. Our coffee mugs and toilet paper were not replaced daily and twice in 4 days we had to either go looking for a housekeeping cart or phone for these items. We actually ran out of toilet paper the once. And I mean completely. On the second occasion, dirty coffee mugs were brought to us after we had called for some clean ones to replace the ones we had used. They weren't just slightly dirty. One had bright pink lipstick on and one had a coffee ring around the inside. It took almost an hour and 3 phonecalls for someone to bring clean ones. Housekeeping were also very noisy and woke us on one occasion standing at the end of the hallway, talking and laughing loudly for a good 30 minutes. One last gripe is that there are 2 pools and at the one, the toilets were locked even though the pool was officially "open". Not good when kids are swimming as they need the bathroom quite a bit! There was nobody around at all that we could ask to please unlock them for us.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Firstly, the impression you get is that you can only use valet parking at $10 a day. We found out that you can self-park which is a HUGE time saver when you want to jump in your car and go. Also, renting a car saves a lot of both time and money when seeing the sights in this area.

Organization Needed

Location somewhat close to Venue. No shuttle from air port to resort (as stated on website). Front Desk very unorganized, no asst with baggage, paid for pet deposit and no pet bed, pet bowl or treat as specified in agreement. Room had not been serviced, a plate of food and card for another guest was in room. No shuttle from resort to air port. Taxi only I will not stay in this resort.

we got robed

The place had some hidden charges i will dispute, and on the last day , some one walked to my daughters room and tole her wallet, computer and ipod. The security was totally unprofessional and responded 24 hours later. Thy didn't have cameras to see who the perpetrator was and the hotel insurance has not responded yet although, the caim is not going to be covered. I shall never want to go to this place again
