Chic, glamorous hotel evokes the feeling of 1960s Palm Springs

Riviera Palm Springs is a luxurious center of ultra-chic cool. The iconic resort underwent an extensive, $70 million renovation that resulted in sumptuous rooms, outdoor fire pits, tented pool, gardens and Thai-inspired spa. The decor is a blend of rich colors and retro furniture, evoking the feeling of 1960s Palm Springs while still offering modern amenities. Riviera Palm Springs combines the best of the past and present, in a property suffused with glamour.

  • Recent major renovations to property and rooms
  • Outdoor fire pits, gardens and tented pool area
  • Thai-inspired spa
  • 1960s era design elements throughout hotel

At Riviera Palm Springs, guests feel like members of Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack. Rooms feature decor and furnishings inspired by the coolness of the 1960s. Funky, high-backed chairs and padded headboards evoke the best of that era, while luxuriant comforters and flat-screen TVs make rooms feel ultra-modern.

Riviera Palm Springs offers a range of room options. The Riviera King guestrooms offer patios or balconies, iPod/DVD/computer stations and luxury bedding. Suites may include separate sitting areas, workstation desks, views of the pool and separate dining area. The two-bedroom Presidential Suite includes a personal patio with fire pit, wet bar and private Jacuzzi.

Distinctive cuisine and cocktails are served at Circa 59 Restaurant, offering eco-friendly fish, premium cuts of meat and locally-grown produce.

In the evening, the illuminated pool area of Riviera Palm Springs transforms into a cocktail party. Servers in bikinis deliver creatively mixed cocktails as guests lounge on oversized futons. A handwoven, thatched hut above the pool deck gives guests the feeling of 1960s Palm Springs.

Riviera Palm Springs 11,000 square-foot spa features exotic Balinese, Thai and Indonesian body treatments designed for relaxation and rejuvenation. The spa boasts 18 therapy rooms, Watsu pool, hot tub, steam room, fitness center and full-service salon.

Perfect for a young couple

We spent the weekend sipping cocktails by the pool, dining in at the hotel's restaurant, and we also visited their spa for massages. The Riviera's decor makes excellent use of space and entertains the eye. The staff, everyone from the servers to the valet guys were very accommodating and left nothing to be desired. Even house keeping staff was excellent at observing our requests. They treated us like VIPs which is valuable because the rates aren't cheap.

Shopping tip: Long walk from hotel

Downtown Palm Springs is great for window shopping. We wanted to get some exercise so we strolled there from the hotel.

Great Place!

We hadn't been to the old Palm Springs in a long time. Usually always stay in La Quinta/Indian Wells area. Thought we'd try something different this time and glad we did. Awesome property, great staff and service levels plus one of the better people watching pools anywhere! Room was good size and loved the bed. Ate breakfast twice there and had a great dinner as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a different, in a good way, kind of hotel. Not really a kid place although a couple families were there even though they seemed out of place, at least at the pool. We'll for sure go back!

Palm Springs Riviera

My recent trip to the Riviera Palm Springs was fantastic! I only wish I could have stayed longer. The one thing I was most impressed with was Circa 59. The food was outstanding, and the service was great too! I will be returning to RPS very soon!

Honest Folks here!

We were visiting for a bachelor party. A few people in our party had misplaced phones and wallets. We called the lost and found the next day and all of our belongings were there, minus a little bit of cash. We were all very excited to know there are still honest folks around.

Great pool action

This is a great hotel! It's the atmosphere and the vibe are what really make it. I don't know how they create such an amazing place to be, but it happens. The rooms are sub par and not everything works in them, but you don't want to be in the rooms anyway. The resort is set up so cool and makes you feel like you are in your own little backyard party. Recommended for couples or groups of friends. Love it and can't wait to go back.

We loved our stay at the Riviera resort! The decor was beautiful, the staff was very attentive and the food was great too. We enjoyed the pool area with the mountains in the background.
