Chic, glamorous hotel evokes the feeling of 1960s Palm Springs

Riviera Palm Springs is a luxurious center of ultra-chic cool. The iconic resort underwent an extensive, $70 million renovation that resulted in sumptuous rooms, outdoor fire pits, tented pool, gardens and Thai-inspired spa. The decor is a blend of rich colors and retro furniture, evoking the feeling of 1960s Palm Springs while still offering modern amenities. Riviera Palm Springs combines the best of the past and present, in a property suffused with glamour.

  • Outdoor fire pits, gardens and tented pool area
  • Thai-inspired spa
  • 1960s era design elements throughout hotel

At Riviera Palm Springs, guests feel like members of Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack. Rooms feature decor and furnishings inspired by the coolness of the 1960s. Funky, high-backed chairs and padded headboards evoke the best of that era, while luxuriant comforters and flat-screen TVs make rooms feel ultra-modern.

Riviera Palm Springs offers a range of room options. The Riviera King guestrooms offer patios or balconies, iPod/DVD/computer stations and luxury bedding. Suites may include separate sitting areas, workstation desks, views of the pool and separate dining area. The two-bedroom Presidential Suite includes a personal patio with fire pit, wet bar and private Jacuzzi.

Distinctive cuisine and cocktails are served at Circa 59 Restaurant, offering eco-friendly fish, premium cuts of meat and locally-grown produce.

In the evening, the illuminated pool area of Riviera Palm Springs transforms into a cocktail party. Servers in bikinis deliver creatively mixed cocktails as guests lounge on oversized futons. A handwoven, thatched hut above the pool deck gives guests the feeling of 1960s Palm Springs.

Horrible Experience

I have stayed at this hotel in the past but this time was not a good experience. The staff was not very helpful and probably the worst experience at a hotel. From check in to check out I was not very happy.

A VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER

I BOOKED THIS HOTEL FOR A FAMILY GETAWAY BECAUSE IT WAS OUR 5 YEAR ANNIVESARY AND MOTHER'S DAY THE SAME DAY. WHEN WE GOT TO THE HOTEL IT WAS SO NICE & COLORFUL LIKE VEGAS HOTEL AND WE FREQUENT IN VEGAS. BUT WHEN WE GOT IN THE ROOM IT SMELLED LIKE URINE, I HAD TO SPRAY THE ROOM DOWN WITH PERFUME JUST TO STAY IN THERE & I BOOKED 2 BEDS BECAUSE WE BROUGHT OUR 9YR OLD DAUGHTER & WE WERE GIVING 1 BED & WE WEREN'T ABLE TO GET ANOTHER ROOM BECAUSE IT WASN'T AVAILABLE, ALSO THE BATHROOM HAD ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER THE BATHROOM COUNTER & THE JACUZZI IS SO DIRTY ITS LIKE THEY HAVEN'T CLEAN IT IN WEEKS. THE REASON I BOOKED THIS HOTEL IS BECAUSE OF THE EXCELLENT PICTURES THAT'S ON THE WEBSITE, PEOPLE SAY DON'T JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER. THEY ARE SO RIGHT!

gone downhill

My family has been staying at this resort every May for the last 4 yrs. It has always been excellent. This year the management treated us like an annoyance instead of guests. We occupied 3 rooms this year. One of the rooms had no air conditioning for 3 of the 4 days we were there despite many calls for repair. The average temp during our stay was 100 degrees. We were not offered a new room or any compensation for this. I had to request an adjustment on the bill, After I did they removed the "resort fee" of $28 plus tax ($31) which they charge daily, for those particular 3 days. This fee is always charged above and beyond the expensive room fee you pay at check in. The remaining 2 rooms lost their air conditioning for 1 day each which was repaired on the day it was lost and one of those rooms had an intermittant odor of sewage for the entire 4 day stay. When I complained to the front desk someone was sent to the room but nothing was done. At check out I was treated rudely by the manager who told me she had no notation of the complaint and while she made a 2 day "resort fee" adjustment she made it clear it was my own fault for not asking for another room. The ice machines on 2 of the 3 floors were not working for the entire 4 days. Getting the attention of the bartender at the pool was very difficult despite the fact that we were the only people at the bar. On the last night we were there a small group of people rented a cabana at the pool which is in the courtyard beneath the guest rooms. They were allowed to get drunk and scream, yell and vomit on the patio surrounding the pool until 4:00 in the morning. We will not be returning.

This is NOT a four start hotel. Dirty, no elevators, musty, expensive

I paid almost 400.00 to get a Jr suite in this hotel to ensure that my husbands birthday was great. Considering this was supposed to be a four star hotel I didn't think I had anything to worry about. First of all we drove by the hotel at first because it is not even noticeable or eye catching from the outside. I was already disappointed before we even walked in. It seemed at first that our only option was to valet ( 20$) since they were vague on where else we could park we went ahead and valeted the car. We then check in and are given directions to our room which are quite far from the lobby and up a flight of stairs ( They do not have an elevator!) Finally find our room.. We walk in.. its hot and musty. Its dirty, dusty, glass has finger prints all over it, furniture has scratches all over it, there is actually cocain on and under the glass top table and razor marks all over it. I was mortified. The shower had mold in the grout. I can go on and on but Its making me mad thinking about all of the money we spent at this motel, I mean hotel. They never offered to help in any way after all of this. We checked out the next day and will never go back! Oh and they slipped a bill under the door for a "resort fee" of almost 30$ So we ended up paying and extra 60.00 for that and valet. Also when we were checking out there was another customer in front of me complaining of dirty room, bad room service, no one answering the phones etc.

Excellent Resort - Perfect for a Wedding

The Riviera was excellent. We stayed there this past weekend for a wedding, which was being held on-site. From the food and cocktails to the rooms (The beds were extremely comfortable) and the full resort's decor, it all screams luxury with a fun vibe. I really don't have anything negative at all to say about it. For the event capabilities, I'd also say that the Riviera is top notch. The wedding we attended was stylish, fun and an over-all excellent experience.

Definitely check out Sidebar next to the restaurant - the bartenders there really know how to mix a drink, unlike the pool bars.

Fun in the Desert Sun!

This is our absolutely favorite resort to stay at out in Palm Springs. First of all, the hotel itself is beautiful. I just love the chic decor, bold colors and cool vibe. The rooms are roomy and have comfortable beds and beautiful furnishings. We've stayed there twice now and each time, the staff is so helpful and friendly. When you pass anyone who works at the hotel, they always greet you with a "good morning" or "have a great day". The pool is probably the best part of the stay. It's fairly large, but it does get REALLY busy, so you don't want to sleep in too long, or it will be difficult to get a spot. Great cocktails and food service out by the pool too. It's definitely a party vibe though, probably not the best for families with young children. This resort is also in a great location, just about a mile away from many of the restaurants downtown.

Palm Spring get away

This the letter I sent the HOTEL I would like to start off by saying that I had a Great experience with you Hotel, but unfortunately I cannot. We were impressed with your Hotel on New Years Eve when we walk in to grab a drink at your bar this year. We said to our self the next time in PS we would stay here. Sadly we probably will not stay here again. My partner and I are frequent visitors to Palm Springs about 20 times a year and we always stay at Hotel ZOZO or the Hilton. Always great service. Sadly not at your hotel Problem Started after we check in and went to our rooms SMALL room for $269.00 per night in the very rear of your hotel. We walked in it was dirty room upon more inspection, light bulbs burned out, glass all over the bed side, water faucet (hot water) broken. Shower head I had to screw in to prevent from hitting me. I should of complaint then but was too tired from having to wait to check in. I informed the front desk on Sunday (PAULA).. very nice how can you get mad at someone who trying to understand you. She did offer to change our room which I was great full to that. We went to brunch and while at brunch about 13:00 she called me that all was changed and I was in the new room. To my surprise I walked back to find out that NO it was not ready. had to wait .. NO time telling how long.. my plans were to enjoy your resort (considering we are charge Resort Fees) and once again NO enjoying Resort. Had to wait maybe until 4-5 hours.. Tired had to walk the street to wait for a room. Finally a room was free and was told a very nice one and a upgrade, yes a upgrade and with a balcony to enjoy. Right a balcony looking over the service area..... btw.. not all of our items transferred. Looking to Black Kenneth Cole Dress boots. All weekend my friends would say WOW the Riviera, my answer was to them all great look form the outside by very AVERAGE from the inside. NOT impressed with you hotel..... Once again thank you for a just AVERAGE stay... Grade C-

we got robed

The place had some hidden charges i will dispute, and on the last day , some one walked to my daughters room and tole her wallet, computer and ipod. The security was totally unprofessional and responded 24 hours later. Thy didn't have cameras to see who the perpetrator was and the hotel insurance has not responded yet although, the caim is not going to be covered. I shall never want to go to this place again
