Wonderful Romantic Getaway

I brought my girlfriend here for a 2 night getaway over her birthday & it was amazing. The staff was a highlight - I called ahead and asked for restaurant recommendations and told them about the birthday, they suggested that while we were at dinner, they would decorate the room with lit candles for our return. What a great night. They'll also serve breakfast to your room/patio upon request. The property is beyond charming. You'll feel "at home" but you'll know you're enjoying a great retreat. The vibe is quiet/serene, so if you're looking to party the resorts would be more appropriate.

Lovely Couples Retreat

This was my first time staying at Korakia, after maybe 15 trips to Palm Springs/Joshua Tree/Pioneertown areas for weekend trips over the past 5 years. It is perfect for a couple (or an intimate group of close friends, or a girls weekend) to get away for relaxation, peace, quiet, and pretty scenery. This is not a party hotel like The Ace or The Saguaro, nor is it trying to be. For that kind of weekend, try those hotels for sure. But Korakia was GORGEOUS and SERENE and they provide lovely breakfast included in the price, and reading by the pool or in the outdoor rustic canopy beds is about as peaceful of a weekend getaway as you can hope for. AGAIN: not for partying (there is no bar or DJ), and not for kids. Great for adults on a romantic weekend or close friends trying to get away from the world for a couple days.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are plenty of restaurants and bars just a 5 min walk from the Hotel on Palm Canyon or Indian Canyon.

Weekend in Paradise

Arrived late Friday afternoon to welcoming, smiling faces and cool mint iced tea in the most charming peaceful surroundings of a Morrocan hideaway nestled against the hills. Room was the Casablanca, an upstairs studio with windows opening onto the patio below, the pool area and a lovely exclusive patio with its own private curving stairway. It was absolutely peaceful, clean and nicely appointed with period furniture and a luxurious shower with an overhead rain shower head. We were in a haven of rest and relaxation. Saturday started with a hearty pancake breakfast, juice and coffee. We stayed by the pool, lounging, sleeping and reading while being pampered by the staff with popsicles and panini sandwiches at lunch time. On the first evening we strolled the three short blocks into town and ate at an incredible restaurant called the Chop House and on the second night tried Rio Azul, a local Mexican restaurant. We were impressed with the wonderful food at both places and really nice service. This is a place to relax and enjoy the surroundings, amenities and charm of staying in a historical Moroccan Villa without TV's or phones. Time unfortunately does not stand still and our stay ended much too quickly. We will return to Korakia hopefully soon and spend more time relaxing in this restful environment again. Cons: Bed was a little soft for my back, but not bad enough to complain for two nights. In fairness I didn't mention it but know they would have tried to rectify the problem as they continuously asked how they could make us more comfortable. Some of the guests started an impromtu party amongst themselves at the pool and got a little loud but we stopped hearing them when we finally closed our windows. It did detract from the quiet atmosphere around the pool but they were done by 8:30ish and things went back to normal after that.

fantastic getaway

Korakia is like a Moroccan Oasis. Every detail is thoughtful and tasteful. The furnishings are somewhat rustic, but authentic, which I loved. The breakfast in the courtyard is a dream. There is a library! How wonderful. There are 2 pools. There are free bikes for exploring. The crowd that all this attracts is great.
